What Is Your Favorite Island?

Wed May 01, 2002 12:58 pm

I have seen a number of them, but I liked Grand Cayman the best so far. It was very well kept, not as expensive as some other islands, no pressure to buy anything in the stores, and it had some great underwater activities. Probably, I will like Puerto Rico even more if I get to get in a month. Old cities, nice beaches, mountains, and a tropical rain forest could make it #1 for me.

What is your favorite island in the world and why?

Maui, the place is absolutely beautiful. The rain forest on the way to Hana is amazing, and the whole Island itself is just really cool.

In second I would have to say Victoria Island in British Columbia. Been there twice, and loved it both times.

Island of Malta - I've been there twice
Isle of Man - I've never been there, but Contact Air (the a.net user) has, and according to him, this island must be rather stylish.

1. PUERTO RICO (beautiful place, I've been there like 20 billion times though since I have family over there, it never gets boring over there though.

2. Oahu, Hawaii (I know maui is better, but I haven't been to Maui yet. Oahu was pretty sweet. I highly recomend the USS Arizona Memorial. Pretty historical place. I got pretty sad when I read the names of the hundreds of people that died on that great ship.)

Take Care,

#1- Puerto Rico!!!!!!
#2- St. Croix, US Virgin Islands- Quiet, fairly clean little island.

Others, in no particular order of favoritism, include Grand Cayman (can't remember much about it) two of the Bahamas, Jamaica, and the Florida Keys.

By the way, this is my 200th post on A.net!

DeltaJAX: Nice try, man, but continents are not classified as islands, regardless of whether they're surrounded by water or not. That's why Antartica is not considered an "island", because it's a continent. I thought the same went for Australia as well. While the country does not comprise all of the continent, I thought geologists or whichever governing body classifies these things said Australia is NOT in fact an island, but a continent, therefore making Greenland the world's largest island? That's what I heard some years ago.

My favourites are:
St. Kitts
St. Croix
Nantucket

Woohoo, I live in Key West! Glad to see so many people like it here.  Big thumbs up

However, when I vacation I prefer to go to place other than a small island, but if I had to choose to go to a island then I would go to some place in the South Pacific, probably Fiji or Tahiti, and spend a lot of time there enjoying the sights and seas. Those rank very high on my dream vacation list.
