Your Favourite Stand-Up Comics

Thu Jun 20, 2002 10:58 am

Who are your favourite stand-up comedians?

Here are mine:

Stephen Wright

Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint and he has to touch it.

Do they have reserved parking for non-handicapped people at the Special Olympics?

So what is the speed of dark?

If you're sending someone some Styrofoam, what do you pack it in?

I just got skylights put in my place. The people who live above me are furious.

Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?

If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

How come you don't ever hear about gruntled employees? And who has been dis-ing them anyhow?

Others include Don Rickles, Robin Williams, and David Letterman

What's another word for thesaurus?

Denis Leary. His album "No Cure for Cancer" is an all-time great. His show "The Job" is good too, but if it were one cable instead of ABC, he could be himself. Some of my favorite bits:

I love the way NyQuil is spelled. Big "n", little "y", Big F***in' "Q"! I love that f***in' "Q". People get high and stare at it, 'The "Q" is talking to me man!"

And it's the key for all you A.A. people. NyQuil is the key, it's the thirteenth f***in' step! You can drink it, it's over the counter! Drink as much as you want! "Are you drunk?" "No Officer, I have a cold; same cold I've had for two years now, I just can't seem to shake it. I'm high as a kite and my teeth are green, Merry F***in' Christmas!"
This for all you people that can't drink anymore! (He then takes a slug of his beer)

The Jacksons are disfunctional? No not the Jacksons. We're talking about the family that gives each other new heads for Christmas.

Marijuana does not lead to other drugs, it leads to f***in' carpentry!

Parents are suing heavy metal bands for their kids listening to the records and then committing suicide. What's the problem with that? It's called population control!

Gallagher is always a winner. I mean, come on, how can you beat smashing stuff with a sledge-hammer?
