What Dash8King is presumably talking about is this ... you claim that you are not here to argue about imports, but the first mention of imports in this thread was in fact by NWA742 claiming that only American trucks could go offroad, unlike imports. Then somebody said give products from Toyota or Mitsubishi a look, and you said you didn't want rice advice.

You guys are opening yourselves up for some discussion, and all I've said is open your eyes, because there are alternatives out there, and quite often, they are superior alternatives. Of course, I never said a Jeep was an inappropriate vehicle for your needs though.

I think the Jeeps are hot cars. Good for offroading. Don't discount all imports though, the Landcruiser is a tried and true GREAT offroader! Although, probably out of your price range. Go for the Jeep Cherokee Sport, but remember get a MANUAL!

Thanks Captain for clearing that up.

My guess is that he had a good report card so mommy and daddy promised him a Jeep. Wish my parents bought be a vehicle.

Remember LOT763,

Make sure you look at some Blazers before going with the Jeep, you might find a better deal on a Blazer.

Wait a minute, LOT can't get the Cherokee, or the Blazer, because "A SUV with a V6 is blasphemy." I guess you'll be looking at Suburbans, Explorer's with a V8, Expeditions, etc etc.

I disagree that an SUV with a V6 is blasphemy, mainly because of the Vortec 4.3L V6 that GM puts in many of their trucks.

Now, an SUV with a 4 banger is blasphemy.....

I´m just thinking of buying the 2001 Grand Cherokee of my dad. It´s a 5 cylinder turbo diesel.
Strong engine - seems to have more power than the V8, but needs a lot less fuel.
yes i can handle that alone. - - -famous last words
