Rules In Your Car?

Fri Nov 08, 2002 5:09 am

Hey,
do you have any rules in your car? Mine are:
Wear a seat belt.
No Smoking.
I always tell my passengers I am not the best driver in the world, but deal with it.

Seatbelts a must
Definitely no smoking
If you have garbage, put it where it belongs

Other than that, you can eat or drink in my car, I could care less, just as long as you throw away the wrappers/cans, etc.

-I am the only one who is allowed to eat in my car, that is because I trust myself not to drop things...I cant trust others.
-no smoking
-If you are going to bring anything illegal in my car, let me know beforehand...so I can adjust my driving style accordingly.
-I control the radio and CD player...dont mess with it!

All and all I am pretty miserable person to drive with because I am very paranoid about the car.

* No smoking
* Seatbelts on
* I controll what we listen to and how loud we listen to it.
* Don't telll me how to drive, and I won't tell you the WALKING directions home.
* If you are under 7, you are sitting in the back.
* If you are sitting in the back you will not:
a) Block my rear view mirror
b) Kick my seat back.

None really.
I don't appreciate smoking..but if a client is nervous..and were on the way to court, I generally allow it. Although I'll have the porter at the firm take it that day and have it washed and sprayed.

Other than that..I just remind folks the radios BELONGS to the driver.

Oh..and I drive really, really fast....if it bothers you....take a cab.

When I'm driving...

1. I control the radio and how loud it is
2. The main cup-holder is mine
3. Don't talk to me about how fast I'm driving; if the speed limit is 65, we'll do 70
4. Don't give me directions or tell me which way is quicker... I'm the driver; you're just along for the ride
5. Fasten your seat belt
6. Climate control is at my discretion
7. Children in the back (airbag)
8. Don't kick the seats

-Seatbelts
-Don't hit the driver
-Don't throw/squirt things at driver
-No fighting
-I am a better driver than you so don't tell me I am following too close or following too fast, its a side effect of emergency vehicle operations. And I like to go fast.

I have kicked people out of my car before for such infractions, such as squirting me.

(1) Wear your seatbelt!
(2) No smoking
(3) MOST IMPORTANT -- Kick my ass if I ever start to treat my car as if it's the cornerstone of my life! If I act like I just became dictator of your world because I extended the priveledge of a ride in my vehicle, please swiftly grab the back of my head and slam it into the steering column.

Firstly, you must always wear seatbelts, especially in the front seat where instead of a passanger side airbag there is a randomly placed bar that my friends and I have christened "The Death Bar."
Also, no Cher. Recently a girl named Annie turned on a radio station that happened to feature Cher. As soon as I heard it, i turned it off and began a speech that went "You can drink, smoke, do drugs whatever BUT THERE WILL NEVER BE CHER IN THE KUNZ KAR!"

You can have your drivers license at the age of 15 in Singapore? Not bad, better then the USA! I had always thought it was 18 there.

    2) Seatbelts on.
    3) No eating stuff that makes crumbs or has shells or smells funny.
    4) No talking on cell phones for really long periods of time.
    5) I control the radio. Deal with it.
    6) If we're in an unfamiliar location, the front passenger navigates and must be available for position updates at the behest of the driver.
    7) I'm in command. Don't second-guess my driving.

*ALL* kids in my car are in car seats, if they are under 50 lbs and 4 years old.
I absolutely adore children, I could never live with myself if I ever killed one due to my ignorance.

if no kids are in the car, you must listen to old school rock like IRON MAIDEN,W.A.S.P., even crap like POISON and SKID ROW. I love the 80's music.

I generally give a "predrive" announcement that goes like this:

"Your attention ladies and gentlemen, in accordance with the Florida clean indoor air act, the emission of noxious gases and smoking are prohibited. Please notice that the captain has turned on the fasten seatbelts sign as well as the no whining sign. Lastly, please remember that interference with a flight crew, or their instruments including climate control, radio settings, lighting and mirror preferences, is a federal offense and punishible by walking to your destination. Thank you for your cooperation."

    -Climate control is my decision
When ever some one argues one of my rules, I remind them that I am the one who is making the payment on the car and keeping it's tank full. If they have a problem, then next time they can drive.

    I don't have a car.

Good people drive me. Here are some of my rules:
I will never strap myself to this coffin! (In case I decide to bail out on the way)
I always eat and drink (Speak to my doctor if you don't like it)
    I whine (no reason)
I'm always cold or hot (I'm always hot or cold)

or I simply shut up and look out the window...

    1) Seat belts at all times, even if I pick you up only a block in front of where you were walking to (I actually had to stop the car until my dad put his seatbelt on once)

2)No smoking, it smells worse than ass

    3) if your shoes aren't clean, you're not riding with me

    4) If you don't like how I drive, feel free to walk.

    5) My car accelerates quickly, so dont look nervous when I try to fit between traffic where most cars cant

    6) No, I wont put one of your CD's in the changer in the trunk

    7) Please dont look for traffic while I'm trying to do the same...your head gets in the way

    8) If you're sitting in the back, I'm not going to put my seat up so you can have leg room, I cant drive safely with my knees against the steering wheel. I know there's not a lot of leg room back there, but hey...you could be walking.

    1) wear the seatbelt
    2) drinking okay, food isn't a good idea
    3) this is a non-smoking flight
    3) Never comment on my driving skills, I drive perfectly it's everyone else who's screwed up
    4) we listen to what I want to at the volume I choose
    5) under penalty of a severe beating do not touch the a/c controls
    6) no side/back seat driving
    7) Do not comment on the "Caution: roll-over risk" signs plastered on my sun shades by the manufacturer or else I will start screaming "We're all gonna die!" and jerk the wheel from side to side.
    8) hot chicks ride free
    9) don't tell me to slow down
    10) A.net members ride free

I didn't really think about this until I started reading the thread. GREAT contributions! Here are some of mine:

    - No smoking, period.
    - Wear seatbelts.
    - If a passenger wants to contribute to the musical selection, fine, but it must be cleared by the driver.
    - Leave dashboard controls alone; if you want something adjusted, ie, temp, stereo volume, etc., just ask.
    - Do NOT at ANY TIME tell me how to drive my vehicle.
    - Do NOT at ANY TIME raise your voice to me or about anything happening on the road (I had a guy who was riding with me yell at me to watch where I was going once, almost causing me to have an accident. I came within inches of backhanding him right across his mouth and dropping him off on the side of the freeway).

Can't think of anything else offhand. Уважаемые пассажиры, добро пожаловать на борт наш самолет Туполев сто сорок четырый, выполняющий сверхзвуковой рейс Мilwaukee-Chicago. Пожалуйста, застигните ремни безопасности и крепко держитесь!!! (Trans: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard our Tupolev 144, flying supersonic from Milwaukee to Chicago. Please fasten your seatbelts and hold on tight!)

Some nice rules you have. I particularly like the guys who require seat belts only in the front seats.

Have fun when the person sitting behind you slams into you with a couple of g. Big grin

    Seatbelts.
    That is my only rule.
Music is music. I can listen to what I want when I want.
Smokers get enough hell from everyone else in the world, I want to give them a break.
I don't drive like I am on crack, so if my passenger has illegals, I don't need to know about it. I drive safely. (but my tags expire this month.....)
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!
