Who Here Has A Teddy Bear?

Mon Jan 27, 2003 5:35 pm

Hey!

Who loves and cares for a Teddy Bear?

I *love* my Teddy Bears, they are so cute, never talk back and are so cuddly in bed.

My favourite and most fun is called *Big Ted*, he's 80 cm tall, tan and big fat and floppy and a total cutie. He wears my boxers, little white t-shirts, my sunnies, a gold necklace (that I bought for him as a pressie) and loves to travel with me - particularly in the car.

[insert mx5_boy driving around in his convertible with his teddy strapped gunshot.. LOL] I try not to go anywhere without him and have had him for years.

My next favourite is a medium sized teddy called Zac, he's my aviator tedd, and has a leather & lambswool jacket, leather cap, goggles, woolen scarf and lots of AN (Ansett) badges on his scarf. He's salt and peppry coloured and gets to come out with me whenever I take my leather back pack (perfect size for him to fit in with his cute head sticking out) out.

Number three is a small Claridge *Russ* and he has the AN star alliance badge on his cute little neck ribbon.

I love all my teddy's but Big Ted is my favourite, as I have had him the longest and he replace a very old teddy of mine that I had to put in storage as he was so old and tattered.

And your teddy's?

Cheers,

mb

I got one that my girlfriend got me, and when you squeeze the leg, (my girlfriends voice recording) comes on and says I love you. She often sprays her perfume on it when she comes up to visit me at school, so my bed smells like her for a long time! I just call him bear.

I still keep one in my room, a very sentimental one however, as when I was born it was my brother's gift to me...its name is "Scottbear", and its one of the only tangible things I have to remember my brother with...

I have a small pillow, around twelve by twelve inches, filled with real goose feathers! I love her so much (it's a she, name Georgina), I just can't fall asleep without her over my ear... That's something my future boyfriend/girlfriend will have to get used to, there's gonna have to be three in bed!

I actually used to collect them when I was much younger. Did a fair bit of travelling and tried to collect a teddy bear from each place. I still have a small few of them and still kinda love them.

If I ever do have anyone over, there will be no room for him with the stuffed aminals there! I have 3 Blues (Blues Clues) a koala, three bears, an armadillo, a seal, the doggie my aunt made me when I was born, a duck, and a polar bear named Shanifer that goes everywhere with me. He and I have been cross-country twice!
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!

I've got one called Buttons, but I haven't touched it since I was about 7 (12 years ago). I've still got it, though God knows where....

Seb146,

Big Ted has been with me to Santa Monica, Las Vegas, Detroit, New York, Paris, London, Singapore, Canberra, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide... The list could go on. He's not too fussed on overhead bins or being in the huge suitcase I take, and occaisionally if a flight hasn't been full he's sat in the seat next to me. [People don't look at you as if your nuts, they just assume you've picked it up as a gift for a child or something..]

I had a little pretend Teddy Passport but lost it in transit somewhere.

I'm straight and have lots of teddy bears. My mates laughed at me and made fun of me at school that I'm gay because I have lots of teddy bears at home! I was so embarrassed but I still want to keep them on my bed! HELP ME! What am i going to say to my mates!

Hmmm...Do gay people love to have teddy bears and dolls?

Not one but several. First there's Moumoume (pronouced Moomoome) and then there's P'tit Fenec (Lil' Fenec ...some kind of little Fox) and P'tit Raton-laveur (Lil' Raccoon) ...I keep them on top of my desk with the several teddy bears that my girlfriend has.

FlyBoyOz,

I don't think you have anything to worry about. And no, I don't think gay's have Teddy's any more than anyone else.

No one has every called me gay for carting around Big Ted. LOL He's pretty big and can be strapped into a car / plane seatbelt - almost anyone who does ask a question or comment assumes it's a gift. (plus his coat is always in top condition and I don't drool on him)

At home I have a dinosaur, but he is falling apart. Surgery wont help much. I can't wash him either, he wont make it. He lost both eyes, and is more like a ball now.

I have stuffed animals but not a designated teddy bear thats been with me for a while. I have a dinosaur called "Dino" and a "Pound Puppies" brown dog. I also have a Yellow Big Bird from Sesame Street that used to have a working tape player inserted in its back, but I ruined that as a kid I guess.

I do, and a Blanket too. I think I am getting a little too old to sleep with mine, he may become a "god" sitting on my other bed soon enough.

Hey,

I just went to my storage unit and discovered that I have complete collection of *Smurfs* as in stuffed smurfies. They were my sisters, I have pappa smurf, smurfette, the one with glasses, gargamel and ezreil the cat - and a few others.

Anyone else have these? They are about 30cm tall and [email protected]! lol

Oh and I found my sisters cabbage patch kid (replete with '666' drawn on it's scalp) - remember those?

lol

Gotairbus,

I think that Michael Jackson is either nothing more than a weirdo peadophile or simply just a big kid who is wandering the world as a lost soul.

I'd like to think the latter, and that he is eccentric. He does tonnes for kiddies charities and the like, but like other celebs that have been so called caught out for kiddie porn and the like, perhaps he is just an enigma of our modern world?

We've all enjoyed whacko's music and seen his tireless work on different things.

But back to the smurf thing.. lol

At the last count, my wife has over 600 bears in the house, as i sit in the spare room there are 130 plus sitting on a high shelf, its even worse in the bedroom, with them on top of the furniture looking at us... that is scary, and the range in size from 4ft tall to a few inches and costs from 350GBP to ones she has 'rescued' from dustbins!!!
Each one has a name and at least three travel with us on holiday, esp when we go back to Scotland as her two brothers have collections as well and the bloody things cross-visit.

Mine doesn' wear khakis too, and has a long light yellow scarf coming out within the bomber. Also the cap is different, it's a lightbrown velvet 1930-style cardriver hat, and he's just 15cm tall. Oh, and the goggle are always covering his eyes, in case some major carrier should request for an emergency pilot  Smile
