1984 khaki green Toyota Tercel 3-door hatchback purchased from Crown Toyota in Upland, California.

Our current car is a 1996 dark green Dodge Grand Caravan donated to me by my father (purchased from McKenna Dodge in Pomona, California) after they bought a new Honda Odyssey. You know, have a family, have a van!

A 1971 Cutlass Supreme, 2-door hardtop. Bought it from the neighbor for $1,200.00. Drove it thru 4 years of high school and traded it in for $1,500.00 for a new car to take to college.

1961 Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan, 348 Turbo Thrust engine, Turboglide transmission (yes, "Turboglide," not Powerglide or Turbo Hydramatic), Four Season Air Conditioning (and it worked), AM radio with "Straight Line Tuning" (no buttons!). It was a fine ride, bought for $300.00 from an older lady who no longer drove, and it had 37,000 miles when I bought it.

Wish I had it now!

Superfly: Yes, my car had a white top and side moldings; but it was a full top, not landau.

Where is your friend, NoCal? Is his a V8? I saw a car just like my old one about 10 years ago in the LA area when I was on a business trip. I ALMOST chased him down to ask about the car, but decided that would be too goofy.

'78 Cutlass Supreme. Got it when I worked at my Uncle's towing business as it was imponded by the police when the caught a volunteer firefighter taing property from peoples' houses during calls . Cost me $200,had no brakes,no drivers floor, blower motor worked only on full blast, bad rocker arms (typical Olds motor <260 ci>),bald tires, plugged cat converter, etc.

1984 Chevy S-10 Ext cab 4x4 v6. Other than that is is totally a base model, vynl seats etc. The 4x4 is quite necessary in the Maine winters. Its a standard and it has no tach. After I hit 60 mph on the interstate it starts shaking and it wont do much above 70. I buoght two years ago off my dad (he bought it new 19 years ago) for $200. and it runs like a charm.

Thanks. But there's no going back, even for nostalgic reasons. My Dad did business with Ford when I was growing up in Detroit. We had a steady stream of Galaxy 500s, LTDs, Country Squires, Torinos, and the Maverick (best car Ford ever made).

But I am now a BMW man for life. Achtung, baby!

Stretch 8 ... I hope to join the BMW club one day too, unless they keep ruining them with styling and gimmicks.

I can get as much MPG as a brand new Cavalier, without the payments and problems  Smile.

BR715-A1-30:
I am curious too.
In 1998, there were no turbocharged Fords at all.
Mustang and Thunderbird briefly flirted with turbo in the early 1980s with the Pinto based 2.3 liter 4 cylinder.

I do not miss my first car at all.

It was a grey 1984 Dodge 600ES. Fuel-injected 2.2 liter 4, 3 speed auto, alloy wheels, "sports" suspension, and bucket seats. It was in rough condition when we first bought the car but it was a runner for the 10 years or so we had it.

Once I was living off campus in college I moved up to my parents old 1987 Camry LE. I LOVED that car. It was a beautiful dark red with maroon velour interior. The four-banger wasn't too powerful, but it would get up and go when needed. Then my dad bought a new car for my mom after her's broke down on her one too many times. So they needed to sell one of the older cars... so the Camry got sold and I moved up to my mom's 90 Plymouth Acclaim... don't miss that one either.

My first car had one horsepower more than you need  Nuts:

Unbelievable that this is a real picture, but it really seems like people in Slovakia like to transport their horses like that, lol! Just imagine what they do with their cows!?!

No, seriously: it was a 1992 Suzuki Vitara, similar to what is known as aChevrolet Tracker. Not a very stable car, especially not in winter.

BOEING747-700: The Ford Expedition is currently my favorite car, and even though I'm talking about the 2003 model, I can't believe you had that one as your first car! Lucky You! How long did you have to work for that one?

A grand ole 1987 Volvo 240DL. Still drive it today. Living where it snows and gets cold can be a problem for that car. Rear wheel drive not good in the mountains with lots of snow. Cold mornings with the fan out provides little if any defrost on the front windsheild. Many mornings have been spent with my head out the window trying to drive. No fan also means no heater. Very cold 20 minute ride to school. Has a big bucket of gravel and a few tubes of sand for weight. Gotten stuck a few times but it still works.

The Car is totally stock except for 118DB hella horns
I am prolly going to upgrade to HID headlights when I can afford them, I will end using the ones from an 2003 Acura TL because I know the conversion is pretty easy, and the light output is not to blue like the Audi's
