Hey everyone, I was thinking bout what my first car will be and I was wondering what all your guys first car was? I'm probably going to get stuck with something equivalent to a pinto Sad

A 1988 Chevy Spectrum. Small, silver, rusty, but would run after you shot the engine with a 12 gauge shotgun.

1995 Saturn SL1 - this weird silver purple color that looked almost pink sometimes...gray interior, automatic, cassette player - but those were the only amenities. it got me where i needed to go, though, at least until the transmission gave out. good car.

1996 Red Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The onboard computer screen sucked. It would flash all these messages about how the hood was ajar, and it would beep all the time. Other than that, the car was great, and very comfortable. Had dark gray interior, and the standard V8.

Now you may ask WHY I put the VIN...I memorized it just for fun back in the 70's when I had the car...now I can't FORGET it!
Have had at least 4 other cars since then!

A 1998 Mazda Protege. Tan and a good little car. Banged it up 2 times majorly and the worse I came out with was an airbag burn on the arm.

Been driving 3 years, had 4 cars.

My first was a red 1988 1/2 Ford Escort. 1.9L, 3spd auto. It was only $200 at first, but parts added up. Then the transmission went out... Sad

Since then I have worked my way up to a Black 97 Taurus!

My first car was a 1987 Ford Sierra 1.6 sedan. It probably was red when it came from the factory but when I bought it for approx 80 USD it was discolored to a rosy-pink color. I had to spend about 1000 USD on spares and stuff and it lasted me for 2 years. An OK deal but my mom hated having it in front of our house.

My second car which I still drive is a 1989 Volvo 440 GLT. It is a great car which is a joy to drive ...compared to the Sierra.....but its looks are going fast.

My very first car that I bought with my own hard-earned money was a 1980 Triumph TR-7 ragtop. I loved that car. While it wasn't quick by any means, it was cool looking & sharp. It was fun to drive with the top down in southern CA. Seven years after I bought it, it was destroyed in a fire. Man, I was depressed for weeks after that. Nowadays every time I see any Triumph still on the road, my heart just aches for another one. Regards.

1997 Honda Civic, it's gotta 5 speed, A/C, and a six disc CD changer. You don't need all the amenities. I love this car! (was a hand me down from my dad.) Gas mileage is outstanding. Right now its got 86,000 miles and goin' strong. Honda's forever.

1971 Pontiac GTO. 400 C.I.D./ 4speed. Bought it for 700 dollars when I was 18. Took some convincing for my parents to let me buy it, as they thought it was a little too hot for a teenaged driver...thankfully, I proved them wrong.

Was in running condition, but very rough/abused. My father and I pulled the engine and went through it, stripped the body to bare metal and repainted it. Was my daily driver for the next 5+ years. Very reliable, if not thrifty on fuel. Would flatten your eyeballs going through the gears if you wanted to play, yet was docile enough for NYC-area traffic. Loved that machine.

1979 Buick Regal. White w/ green vinyl interior. I drove it for a about 18 months until the I got rid of it. In the time I had it (it was a hand-me-down car), I was in two wrecks, and f'd the transmission up. I had my first wreck two days after getting the transmission fixed (I rear-ended a car that was trying to make a left turn without a turnsignal. Add to that it has just started to rain and the road was slick). My stepdad and I repaired it ourselves (gotta love those pre unibody body panels) over three weekends. It became white with a light metallic blue hood and left front fender (friends joked it looked like a two-toned cop car). About three weeks after getting it roadworthy again, I was in another wreck (guy rear-ended my car while I was yielding to traffic to make a right turn). Not too major of damage, bent the rear bump a little bit, and some trim damage. After those two wrecks, the car was never the same. Got rid of it in November of 1994, replaced it with a 1988 Dodge Lancer.

Well I am one of the 10% of A.net teenagers who's cars cost less then $45,000. I have a 86 chevy scottsdale its a half ton. Just got my license yesterday too! I bought it for $500 and have put $2000 into it.

Mine was a 1974 Chevelle Malibu Classic. Bought in 1975 for $3800.00 and would be just about priceless if I still had it as it had the Mickey Thompson package.

1991 Chevrolet S-10 Ext. Cab pickup with the 4.3L V6. Just recently sold it with 206,000 miles on it. I drive a '94 Beretta now.

Well, its not really mine, but I'm the only one who drives it: 1993 Nissan Altima, automatic V4. Nothing special, my mom's old car. Its got 133000 miles.

The only problem is the timing chain is on its way out and supposedly its expensive to replace, so I don't know how thats gonna work, when it does, and my brother comes home from school for the summer, and we have 2 cars, for 4 drivers...

I hope I don't regret posting this.

My first car was a 1990 BMW 318iS that I inherited after my uncle passed away. Otherwise, I was supposed to get a 1981 VW Rabbit, which was my dad's car and was very reliable, unlike qb001's GTI. The Rabbits were known to be very reliable and durable.

When my uncle passed away, I was 18 and my parents wouldn't let me drive the BMW. Finally when I finished high school, they let me, as long as I paid for the insurance, fuel, etc. I drove it all summer, and the day before I started university, I went to work, and a drunk driver totalled the car for me. Thankfully, the car was parked with nobody in it, but needless to say, I was not a happy guy that day. This one had the new at the time 1.8 4 cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder. It was quite peppy, revved nicely, had the sports package with amazing handling. Despite only adequate power, it was a true driver's car.

Shortly after that, my dad decided to purchase a 1997 VW Jetta TDI which I have driven since.

A 1966 Beetle 1300 in green ,rust and primer with 6 volt electrics. Bought it in 1985 for £300 sold it 2 years later for £450.It was still green,rust and primer, although the position of some of the patches had changed, but I had cured the problem the meant you had to start it with a hammer!

A 1972 Ford Maverick. The car was mustard yellow (matching yellow hubcaps), white vinyl roof with white "side molding." The car had a V-8 engine and the "luxury decor option:" "glove-soft" vinyl seats, "cut-pile" carpeting" air conditioning and AM-FM radio. I got the car from my Mom in 1978.

im not going to list the first vehicle I drove, since it wasnt "mine" per se, but my dad's. MY first car is one I bought almost a year ago, a 1991 Toyota MR2, jet black, 5 speed, 17 inch rims on the front and 18s on the back with Toyo Proxes rubber. I love it.
