World Parliament Experiment

Wed Jan 21, 2004 2:47 am

I just came across this website, which in found interesting at least. What they try to establish is a web-based world parliament. I provides resources to discuss political topics and to put issues on votes.

immediately, i thought that this could be a nice playing ground for some political debates going on here.

Why would someone like that?? To have a few nations that consider themselves too much in front of the rest of us who would claim a "veto" right like it is in the Security Council at UN right now?? Keep dreaming.

sure, it is a utopia. but imagine to get a significant proportion of the world population to vote via the web. such worldwide "polls" could make a difference.

What proportion of the world's population has regular access to the internet?

Hmmmm, single world government. Reminds me of the book of Revelations.

I saw something on the Discovery channel about the book of revelations. Apparantly the person who wrote it may have been in a Roman prison, and he was writing it to scare the Romans who were persecuting him at the time. They went very in-depth and did alot of research. If this is the case, then the entire book is basically meaningless.
