Freezing/snowy Weather's Latest Victim...

...is none other than 707cmf himself, who mistook his Astra for a washing machine, spinning on some ice/snow and falling into a small ravine in the process.
He is obviously OK (apart from the mental disturbance he already had prior to this predicament), but he shall (les Eaux) probably be shopping for a new car very soon.
Have any other of you fallen victim to the recent cold spell ?

Good to hear that there are no injuries.

Nothing this year, but last winter I had a slight accident whilst experimenting with "vectored thrust" on a long (empty) icy farm road...  Smile

I went indeed on a spin this morning while driving to work.

However, news of the demise of my car have been exagerated, since my Astra is still perfectly roadworthy. However, I shall (les eaux) shop for a new set of rear tires tonight before driving back home.

I'll post a detailed report on this forum during the afternoon (including nicey pictures I've shot while waiting for the depanneur)

You can't continue to the nearest destination on front tyres only? Not ETOPS certified?

Hmmm.
From what I remember from my YUL days, a depanneur is where you go buy bread and milk in your pyjamas on Sunday morning whereas a depanneuse gets you out of a breakdown prdeicament, asti.

Uh, from what I understood from when we were on the phone this morning, he fell into a nice little hole with only one wheel touching the gound after the fall.
So continuing to the nearest destination would have involved something like a Mil or Sikorsky ventilator hauling him out  Laugh out loud

Maybe 707cmf tried to regain control of the car by lowering the nose like one would do when flying. Big grin

Well, unfortunately, it looks like I am better at steering vehicles with steerable wheel on the back (i.e. a taildragger) than something with four wheels that is not able to leave the ground normally...
