I am half way through this page turner, has anyone else here read this book?
What are your thoughts?

I just bought the book and intend to read it when I get more time (i.e. like the end of this semester). I hear it's incredible.

this book was so good, i ended up reading it in two days. no kidding.

it is the best poorly written book ever!

digital fortress is equally engaging.

The book marked its 1 year anniversary on the Best Seller list this week... its un-freaking-believable. I don't know what was so great about it.

Dan Brown is an amazing author, and subsequently the DaVinci Code is now probably my 2nd favorite book after Timeline by Michael Crichton. I read the DaVinci Code over a two day period last July-I couldn't put the book down. The ending is really good too, but I don't want to spoil it for you. There is so much suspense within the book. If you have the hard-cover edition, look on the blurb on the inside of the book cover---there is a secret message contained within (there are certain letters that are slightly bold). A friend of mine and I were just discussing the DaVinci Code today--he's planning on reading it again in honor of it's one year anniversary. I'm currently working on the American President's Series by Art Schlesinger Jr. and Times Books. If you're into American Histoy, its definitely a series well worth getting into.

Can you tell that I read a lot? In fact, probably too much.

whats so great is the author is an engaging storyteller.

he writes like a high school english teacher (which he is) and is rather staid in that department.

however, his story....his story and the way he tells it is gold!

Read 90 pages one night, and then the next night I stayed up until 4am and finished it. It is a great thriller of a book. I had fun trying to figure out the codes and puzzles in the book, but I was most proud when I figured out where it was actually hidden. I actually played the online game as well (there are hidden codes on the book cover). That was interesting. It was a fun read overall. It is definitly one of the best books that I have read.

Right now I am in the middle of Angels and Demons, about halfway or so, but I have been unable to read it as fast as I would like to since I have had so much other stuff going on. It is also very good.

Anyways, I will definitly be looking for more books by Dan Brown in the future.

I, like everyone else, read about 90 pgs the first day, and ended up finishing it the next day. The book is amazing...one hell of a page-turner, and an incredible amount of interesting historical facts interwoven into the exciting plot. The other Dan Brown books are also damn good...especially Angels and Demons, which is about even with Da Vinci Code in my opinion. Each book, admittedly, incorporates pretty much the same overall formula, but they all kept me very interested all the way to the end. Can't wait for the sequel, and the movie...

Ahhh.. So what about Holy Blood Holy Grail?
I hear that is a natural follow up.
Its interesting every one is commenting on the reading level, but isn't simplicity part of good story telling?

I haven't had a chance to read any of his works, but his books have been very good sellers based on the amount of his titles my company currently carries and stocks in the shops @ ATL. Da Vinci Code and Angels And Demons have been huge sellers, and Digital Fortress and Deception Point have been selling fairly well also. The only other paperback that has been selling as well as Angels And Demons has in the last few months is King of Torts by John Grisham.

I ride a commuter train each day, and not surprisingly many people pass the time by reading. I have seen more people reading The Da Vinci Code than any other book with the possible exception of the first Harry Potter.

EXACTLY PROSA!
Not only that I work 1 block from the Opus Dei World Headquarters on 34th Street in NYC.
I remember when that building was completed there was a huge write up in the NY Daily News about the shading goings on .
After reading this book, I look at anyone going in and out of that building with a crooked eye everyday now!
Supposedly the men and women use separate entrances and are separated within the building.
Very, very strange indeed.
Hell I'm gonna start looking for bleeding thighs!
