Hannity Needs To Retract His Statement

Sat Aug 14, 2004 4:04 pm

"On the August 10 edition of FOX News Channel's Hannity & Colmes, co-host Sean Hannity falsely claimed that President George W. Bush has denounced and disassociated himself from a recently released TV ad by the anti-Kerry group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Hannity's guest, Jeh Johnson (attorney, former general counsel of the Department of the Air Force and Kerry adviser), pointed out that "editorial pages in the newspapers have denounced ... and have called upon President Bush to disassociate himself" from the discredited claims in the ad; Hannity responded, "The president has, by the way. The president has, and through his office."

Sean Hannity owes it to his viewers and his integrity to apologies for this blatant untrue statement......Good try Sean you need to practice being a Right Winger a little more your lie found you out to soon.

And what point does it stop becoming 'opinion' and start becoming propaganda?

He's helping the Democrats in that idiots might vote for them over Bush after listening to Moore, but I don't think he swings the votes of anyone who knows what's what. He's simply the liberal Bill O'Reilly.

Actually O'Reilly does tend to deal with facts considerably then Moore does.

O'Reilly has too, left wingers follow him every time.

In case you wonder why every right wing book has a references appendix that is about twice as thick as a left wing book.

Presumably as 'right wing' is traditional thinking, there are many more references to it than to 'left wing', which by definition is modern and progressive.

Mir shows us that liberals are all for free speech unless it offends them - then they need to be taken off the air.

Consider this, in this case people watching a news channel were told a lie. This isn't a movie, or a book, it's a news channel.

This is typical Hannity. He always uses lies or half-truths to make his point, and always refuses to retract or change what he's says. Hannity isn't about the truth-he's about protecting GOP faleshoods whenver possible.

And ,I see, again, L-188 uses the "bait-and-switch" tactics of RWAK's, and brings up a name that wasn't even in the conversation.

Drooling? No. Laughing my ass off at the unbelievable predictability of you and other RWAK's on here? Absolutely!  Laugh out loud

It's like clockwork: critisize Bush, or the GOP, and, like an automatic reflex, you can be sure a RWAK is there, waiting to change the subject, or put in a certain name or two, to deflect the criticism away.

Only problem is, no one buys you guy's bullshit anymore. It's become so comical, no one takes you seriusly when you do it.

I may have to post the honorary "RWAK Society" membership one of these days, just to piss you guys off again.

That is because to the 2004 version RWingers Truth doesnt matter anymore. And much like many other threads were not talking about Michael Moore.

As usual, our obsessed Bush basher Randy has not done any research. The President has said he is against all ads run by these 527 groups and if the Democrats want them stopped, then they need to stop the anti-Bush groups.

However, why should the President denounce an add being run by private citizens? They have just as much of a right to run their ads as groups like Moveon.org and its millions from George Soros. Of course groups like Moveon.org do nothing but trash the President so those are ok according to the liberal hypocrites.

Hannity should make a correction, since he and all of you are forgetting one VERY IMPORTANT POINT here!!!!

According to the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill, there is a stipulation that prohibits association with ads from politicians.

Ergo, Bush CANNOT LEGALLY chime in one way or another insofar as "denouncing" an ad placed by a 527. Candidates used to be able to comment at will when the RNC and DNC were funneling soft money and running ads helter skelter, but now that the barrier exists, the Swift Boat Vets can do and say what they will, and Bush CANNOT intervene or comment, regardless of his personal feelings. Neither can Kerry. It is a critical component of the McCain-Feingold bill...

So Hannity is wrong, but to take it one step further, Bush cannot say jack about the Swift Boats, so for Kerry or anyone to make political hay of it is wrong factually and intellectually and they know it.

Just another way Bush & Company are trying to throw the Constitution down the drain, this time the 1st amendment.

Every 527 has a right to put out these ads, I am appalled by how they are putting out an ad without evidence from someone actually on the boat, but, hey, if they want to put out lies (which is what they seem to do best) then go for it, Free Speech.

I doubt if he was under Hannity's desk, his mouth was full of much. I think Hannity acts the way he does to compensate for being "small" in other places.  Big grin

B757300 doesn't worry about sources. He puts out articles from right-wing rags, then won't support what he said. The truth isn't what he's after, anyway.

Do you guys really have nothing better to do with your days? We know you hate Bush, and we know your gonna vote for Kerry. Why the hell do we have to start a thread about it every 5 mins? The same goes for my fellow Bush supporters. Were not going to change each others minds, so why the hell are we wasting our breath er keystrokes.

If you hadn't noticed, I now usually refrain from political discussions. Because there is no reasoning with people that are firmly set in their views. I'm sure you can agree with me on this one.
