You are confusing Saffron (the pollen of a certain type of crocus flower, a red powder, which turns food yellow when cooked with it in minute amounts, much used in Indian cuisine and once the most valuable spice) and Teflon, the Dupont trade name for Polytetraflouroethene, the heat proof plastic used to coat (among lots of other uses) non-stick frying pans.
