To not vote is anti-democratic
Though you factually couldn't be more wrong...
...in my personal case, I do agree with you.
My now-86yr-old Great Grandmother participated in the first elections legally sanctioned for Blacks in the state of Louisiana; as well as several previous marches in 1963 and '64, demanding such.
Protesters turned dogs on the crowd, she was unfortunate enough to become a victim. She has a nearly 5inch-long deformity in her lower left arm from the animal's bite. The nearest hospital that would accept Blacks was nearly 2hr away, so her aunt had to perform makeshift surgery with sewing thread, to stop the bleeding. Her arm never healed right as a result.
Before we turned 18, my mother/aunts/uncles/cousins/etc were shown this, the story, and even a newspaper clipping which detailed that specific march (January 3, 1964).... and told no one could force us to vote, but we'd best remember the abject hell some of our forefathers had to go through just to get us that right.
In respect for what she and sooooo many others went through for me, I've missed but two national/state/municiple elections...
1) because I got in an accident on the way home to the polls
2) because I, and quite a few others, got the date wrong due to misinformation
