The Women Of Food Network

Wed Feb 09, 2005 12:35 pm

There isn't much better than a good looking woman who knows how to cook, afterall the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach. The best place to find woman such as this is on the Food Network. So I need all of your input on who the better female celebrity chef is.

The nominees are:
Rachael Ray

Host of "30 Minute Meals", "$40 a Day", and her new show "Inside Dish".

Her shows focus primarily on how to make good quality meals with simple readily available ingredients... she also has a strong focus on value for the money spent. Definately easy on the eyes, but she has been sporting a fake tan as of late and can be uber-perky at times.

The second nominee is Giada de Laurentiis.

Giada, native of Roma, Italia is the host of "Everyday Italian". She blends old family recipes with modern twists and ingredients. Her show makes the rather mundane tasks of cooking seem sexy, with close up shots of her nicely manicured nails chopping garlic or cleaning her board. Everything about this woman is sultry, the only downside is that she has a petroleum jelly induced perma-smile that seems fake at times.

Which of the two is your favorite... or is there somebody else on Food network, or any female TV chef that needs to be added to the list.

I agree - watching her right now. She can be soooo flirty when she has a sip of beer. Did you see her in Amsterdam on $40 a day??

My vote goes for the carpenter/my namesake on "Kitchen Accomplished", Peter.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Personally, I prefer Giada de Laurentiis. She is HOT. I just don't like Rachel Ray. Something about her voice. And like you say, she is WAY too perky. Anyway, if I want a 30 min. meal made cheaply with readily available ingredients, I'll make a TV dinner.

The first several times I saw Giada's show while channel surfing, I question why on earth food network would give Natalie Portman an Italian cooking show. I didn't realize it was someone else until I saw here prepare a meat dish. She now has my second favorite show on FN, the first being "Good Eats" with Alton Brown.

While I love Italian food, Giada's constant smile just bugs me on occasion. She definitely has the better body, though. I don't understand how she eats like that and stays that thin (unless she's bulemic). I'd still hit it, though.  Acting devilish

Rachael Ray has this extremely annoying giggle.

I second that. And she is always SO EXCITED about everything she ever cooks.

Sarah Moulton's show "Sarah's Secrets" is still on during the day... buried somewhere in the afternoon "In the Kitchen" block.

As for the Rachael vs. Giada battle... it is a tough one for me. Both are talented chefs and work in very desirable cuisines, both are easy on the eyes, and both have somewhat annoying quirks (too perky and fake smile). Though what might sway it for me is Giada's fashion sense. She has a habit of wearing the deeply cut v-neck shirts. And when the camera is at the right angle and she is bent over oh so slightly, say chopping scallions or peppers, you get a lovely view. Not so w/ Rachael.

Giada is quite attractive, but...her smile drives me nuts for some reason..yes,
Rachael is a bit perky..but I could put up with that for a bit.

then..there's Sandra Lee and..Jack (can't remember her last name) on "How to Boil Water"

Ina Garten wins hands down. She is fat, happy, has a FANTASTIC home(s), and always seems to have these hot gay guys over for dinner.

Rachel Ray needs to be slapped really hard. No one can make that crap in 30 minutes. And no one can go to Paris and eat for less than $ 40 a day. Gimme a break.

Giada de Laurentis is incredibly beautiful and her recipes are fantastic. She is a bit unerving at first in the way she enunciates every word to make it sound sensual.

When she says prosciutto or mozarella, it sounds like food porn.

It's honestly a tough call between the two, but until Giada does some pictures like these, it's Rachael:

I guess straight men actually watch these shows, huh.

I always thought it was gay boys and old straight women who watched the cooking shows. I tivo Ina Garten, and, of course, Paula "put butter in everything."

Sandra Lee has the right attitude. Buy a cupcake from the store, and put some icing on at home. Voila !! Semi-home made. She is model thin, so I doubt if she eats her fatty concoctions.

Tough call, but I'd have to go with deLaurentis, despite the somewhat plastic smile. The cleavage shots on her show are quite nice.

Rachel Ray is a cutie, altough she can be too damn perky at times. Anyone else notice how her body is kind of out of proportion? She has a curvy set of hips and quite a nice behind but the top shelf is lacking.

There is something about Rachel Ray that rubs me the wrong way, but Giada
makes me drop what I'm doing to drool all over her. I swear her husband /cameraman used to work in the porn industry. The way he zooms in on her hands and down her neck is just incredible. The only thing missing is some porn music and a cheesy script. At the end of each show she has some guests over to eat whatever she created. You can just tell that as soon as the last bite is eaten, she is going to rip the tablecloth off and everybody is going to pile on for some naked swinger action. In my circle of friends she and her husband would be known as a "fun couple". Oh yeah, I think she cooks too.

Rachel Ray

I love her body! She has great "Backside"! Great Hips, Thighs & I am an "itty bitty " guy (I like small ones). She has a great smile & beautiful full lips. She has a warm & funny personality. Plus, she is a great cook, with a sense of adventure.
