Your Favorite Kind Of Beaver

Sat Feb 12, 2005 7:12 am

There are two main types of beavers: the American beaver and the European. Beavers can grow up to 4 feet and weigh up to 75 pounds.

What's your favorite kind of beaver?

Which are the hairier ones? The European beaver, or the North American beaver?

How much would you say this beaver weighs? It looks like a North American beaver to me.

I didn't think that beavers actually eat wood, but apparently they do. I thought they just chewed it to down a tree and build a dam.

Beavers feed mainly on what they can find in their habitat. This includes vegetarian food such as aspen, willow, cottonwood, leaves, apples, crops, and similar fare. Fish can also comprise Beaver's ration, yet the animal does not hunt. It eats dead fish found near-by. Careful and prudent, Beavers hide food in their underwater tunnels to make use of it in winter periods.

Well that explains the smell.

I know a Beaver' natural habitat is near wood. Beavers love wood.

Some beavers prefer other beavers. These same beavers typically also prefer imitation logs made of plastic over the real deal.....

Lest we forget the omnivorous beaver that prefers both wood and other beaver. That, my friends, is the most valuable beaver of all.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

My favorite is the North American quivering beaver. This easily excited species makes loud shrieking noises while devouring wood.

If a beaver gnaws on a pussywillow - is that cannibalism?

Hey, now.... The beaver is a truly proud and noble animal! Revered so much in this state it is the mascot of one university (Oregon State), on the back of our state's flag and the offical animal of this fine state!

Of course our motto has been changed from "The Union" to "She flies with her own wings" and the other major university uses the fearsom duck as it's mascot.

I retract my original statements.

GO CANUCKS!!
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!

Not sure, but it would make a great porn film!
