Why don't we hand over that ridiculous event to the East, just pull out silently and be glad that we don't have to endure this nonsense year after year? I mean hey, chance of a lifetime..

Good idea Andreas. In my opinion the ESC is nothing more than a relict from the cold war. Nobody needs this crap anymore and since the German performance (I wouldn't call it that btw) gets from bad to worse year by year, we should do us all a favor, at least in western Europe and pull out. Its just an embarrassment every year!

Maybe the Brits still like it.  Smile

I was awaiting such a smart-arse comment.   I wish it was me, but sadly it is not.   This is based on very good sources, including myself.  Big grin

Exactly: over here - i.e. not in BiH. You ask a knowledgeable local!

300,000 Bosnians and Herzegovians moved to Germany during the war, so they became 'Westernised.'

Anyway, beer calls.

One of them being you, of course. The reason that you "have a problem with said ladies" is because you asked them, on numerous occasions, koliko kosta?, but they replied "ne razumijem" every time. I have heard, via the grapeline, that one girl even pretended to suffer from trovanje to escape you. Still, no wonder you are bitter and twisted.  Wink *Runs in fear of immediate safety.*  Big grin

Anyway, let's return to the topic of this thread: the Eurovision Song Contest.  Wink

Sure thing! She - the absolute beauty - will realise you're a lost cause and that I am certainly not, so will emigrate from Germany to the UK.  Big grin

If you ask nicely, I will translate it for you. OK, I will do it now:

Koliko kosta? = how much (cost)?
Ne razumijem = I don't understand (trying to play dumb to escape you  Wink )
Trovanje = poisoning

Hi all,

Sad to see the big 3 UK, Germany and France are the bottom 3.

Their songs may not be the best but it shows the Eastern Europeans are vertually ganging up on the West!

If this is the future of 'Europe' .....

Cheers

Yep - Ireland aint in it for the first time ever. I think that its all the political voting going on and as this year's Irish entry, Donna & Joe McCaul siad, 'If it continues like this in the future Ireland shouldn't bother entering again' Too True.

I wouldn't call it political, as it's the people who vote. I would rather call it 'cultural voting', as countries with close cultural ties give each other the best votes (like the whole Balkan region + Bulgaria/Romania/Moldova; Russia, Ukraine & the Baltics; Scandinavia; UK & Ireland). Or would you dare to say that the high officials in Andorra decided to give 12 pts to Spain for 'political reasons'?

A clear and well deserved win, well above the cultural and/or political voting used by the other 22 entrants.  spin
Thanks London, Brussels, etc... clearly publics with a distinguished sense of musicality.  yes

See you next year in Athens, we (incidentally) have some unused buildings since the last Olympics, that will come in handy.

This "song" contest is simply trash and not music. Most songs are terribly stupid and the singers can not sing. Don't waste your time to watch this.

Iakove if it wasn't for the Greek students in the U.K. the Greek immigrants in Belgium, the Greek students + immigrants in Germany, the Swedish origin of Hellena, the Politics of the Balkan region and the huge promotion of the Greek song (Thanks God its over) then Greece would have 0 point....

Well after all, now is an other good opportunity for Greece to promote with the same boring for nowadays way "mousaka, tzatziki, i love you - you love i?, syrtaki, zorba, yassou" and 10000000 greek clichés.
