Anyone remember the first rock/pop concert you went to (this should highlight who are the old gits around here )?

The first concert i went to, was with my parents back in 1997ish. 'The Corrs' down in Brighton, followed by Jimmy Nail a few weeks later. However, i then went to Party in the Park, Hyde Park in 98/99! That was bloody amazing, seeing the S Club girls prancing around on stage

Grateful Dead, around 1976-77. I tagged along with my sister and her boyfriend. Great concert, and I was hook forever on live shows.

In 1979, freind of mine had tickets to a Bee Gee's concert in Houston, w/backstage passes, and I passed on going. Travolta, who was in town filming exterior shots for "Urban Cowboy", turned up at the show, in "the suit" and was on stage.

It was back in 1987 in the "Palais de Beaulieu" of Lausanne to see the concert of Depeche Mode I recall that Front 242 was doing the first part of that particular show. This was part of the famous "concert for the masses" world tour who ended up in Pasadena LA where the "101" live album was recorded.

1971 - Genesis at Epsom Baths Hall. "Nursery Crimes" had just been released. It was an amazing gig that I can still remember like it was yesterday. I saw them many more times after that up to and including the "Duke" tour. Sadly, I think they went to pot (too pop?) towards the end.

David Bowie´s concert in Sthlm 1978-79, dont remember the tour name but it was w/ the neonlights in the back of the stage and David had green leather pants.

My first big concert that I went to was in 1991, band called Acid Drinkers 
Then I went to small (under 5000 people) concerts many times.
Last time I went to a concert was in 1999. It was Metallica playing in DC.

Iron Maiden, Manchester Apollo, 1st December 1988. I went to the shop my mum worked in and cried until she let me go out of embarressment. Big hard metal dude! It was the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son tour. Actually, I would have been 14, a bit old for scriking to get my own way, but hey, it worked. I might try it on my next flight - "I wanna go Business Class"!

Mine was Queen in 1986. I saw them at Maine Road in Manchester for the Magic Tour, with Status Quo in the support act. Don't remember to much of it, I was 14 then.
