Since nothing happened - I can say it is kind of thrilling to have a little excitement in CA from time to time.

So did any of you feel it?

Nothing felt here in SoCal tonight (too far) but we had a nice little shaker a few days ago (Mag 5.2).

Yeah that was a nice little massage. Woke me up though after a late night. It was odd too as we normally dont see earthquakes here in California at 8:30 in the morning. 8:32 to be precise.

Nothing felt here in San Jose. We haven't had anything for quite a few months that I've felt here.

Glad I got out of that hellhole (Humboldt County) when I did. In Geology class, we always talked about the tri-junction of plates that converge just offshore, but we never knew when the quake would hit. Looks like it hit today. Strangely, the area that is hardest hit (Rio Dell-Fortuna-Ferndale) was also hardest hit back in the 93 quake from what I hear. Strange.

Then I take it you don't remember Northridge and the Mojave quake that preceeded it a year earlier? Both struck WAY early in the morning. It isn't fun getting woken up at 4am because your house shaking hard.

Airlinerfreak -

Interesting! Mt St Helens blew its top at exactly 8:32am, also. I was in the area, and heard that blast. Unbelieveable!!!

When I lived in San Bernardino I felt quakes pretty often, one day we had two exactly 12 hours apart - 7:45am and pm.

The only earthquake I felt last night was from me jumping up and down beating on that Liberace $1 slot machine in disgust at River Rock Casino.

That's not really a bad thing you know, given what happened last year...

When I lived in ATL in 2003, we had an earthquake in MArch...4.5 I believe. It was felt around much of Atlanta, but no damage was reported. I slept through it, with my TV on and working...but my parents were awoken. We had small cats at the time and the doors to my parents room was closed. They thought it was knocking and when my mom got up, she saw the movement. Must have been pretty scary, but it helps that it was middle of the night and my parents were very tired and groggy.

I've been home for the past few days. Nothing felt here in Morgan Hill (just south of San Jose).

I did feel the one in San Diego on Sunday. I was at work at SAN. Shook our breakroom pretty good. I've lived in SD for a little over a month and I have already felt two quakes. That's already more than I felt in Nor Cal last year (even though we had more than one in Nor Cal last year...just didn't feel them).

I HATE earthquakes!!

So yeah, no excitement of this kind in California would be fine by me...

Didn't feel anything up here, but the Aleutian Islands of Alaska where rocking and rolling the same day.

Once can't help but wonder at the connection.
