I've never finished with a plus .500 record in the 7 or 8 years I have been playing fantasy football. By getting the first pick as proven last year ensures me and everyone else nothing. Well it ensures one thing...I'll still take Dl021's team out behind the woodshed!

$50 that I finish first.

Shit, I'll fly out and pay if anyone wants to up the stakes since no one was interested in a money-league.

I have no idea who I got, and I can't see it from work. I'll put money on me getting absolutely nothing...but that's typical. I'll have to work my usual waiver wire magic to kick your pansy asses.

How ironic. I have Buffalo and Miami as my team defense.

At least I got Tom Brady as my QB.

I don't understand the waiver thing. Can someone briefly explain it to me?

OK..well, if KROC does end up with a team that's stacked in his favor from a "pre-rigged" draft then I say we create a 'super-team' by trading all the top-rated fantasy horses to one team to ensure that he gets beaten.

I'd be all in for this, but the commish has taken it upon himself to accept and reject all trades. Apparently he does not have faith in the members of the league.

Quoting KROC (Reply 47):
When I checked the league set the drat order set up as who signed up first.

Bullshit. It is clearly posted in the league that the order was changed form 'random' to 'ordered'. If you knew how to run the league, you wold know that the draft order is randomized 30 minutes prior to the draft - at least in leagues where the commish doesn't cheat.

Quoting KROC (Reply 47):
I had the first pick last year and he got hurt half way through the season and I finished 3rd from last place.

That certainly has more to do with your lack of skill than whether the person got hurt. But you know deprive those who actually know what they are doing from having at least a 1/16 chance of getting the first pick. It's a 1/0 shot, which as we all know from basic math, is no shot at all.

Quoting KROC (Reply 47):
stop bitching like a 4 year old girl who just had her lollipop jacked.

If you didn't cheat like AA61hvy's girlfriend with her ex, there wouldn't be a reason to.

Quoting Mlsrar (Reply 44):

So how does this work now, are there trades? I've never done fantasy sports before.

If you've been playing for 7-8 years, assuming you've been cheating for as long as possible and you still can't win, it's a lack of skill.

You're just trying to distract from the obvious issue here - you rigged the draft so you could get Manning. Admit it. You aren't fooling anyone.

As I've never done this before I have a fairly simple question.

I don't have a starting QB on my team. Nor are there really any that aren't signed. How will that effect me in this league?

Unfortunately, that's what happens when the commish sets up a 16 team league with 2 QBs and there are only 32 starting QBs in the NFL.

I got Harrington and Losman as my QBs, not as funny as Grossman and Dilfer, but a little f'd up (My own fault for being too lazy to do a predraft ranking). But I have some RBs that I'd be willing to trade for another QB and a decent WR (Larry Fitzgerald is my best WR):

Jamal Lewis
Clinton Portis
Deuce Staley
Lee Suggs

Nice try dude. Yahoo set the league to a random draft. YOU changed the setings of the league to an ordered draft so YOU could have the first pick.

My pre rankings have nothing to do with the commish rigging the draft.

Fantasy league-wise, Manning to Vick is a huge step down. If I had those two, I'd be on my knees each day praying Peyton doesn't get hurt.

At first glance, when I looked at my QB's (Palmer and Bledsoe), I thought I'd be up the creek. Then I looked at my RB's (Corey Dillon and Kevin Jones) who the computer picked for me in the first two rounds, and I'm thinking now I've got a halfway decent team (Saints Still Suck).

By the way, thanks to all of you who left Tory James (8 INT's last year, second in the league, I believe) as an unclaimed free agent for me to pick up.

Like having the first pick even helps that much.

If he was that smart he'd have given himself the middle pick so everytime he picked there was only 15 picks in between...in our league 8 is the pick to have.

Exactly the problem.  bigmouth   bigmouth

I have less of an issue with the fact that he had the first pick than with the fact that he did not disclose the draft would be rigged as such. If he said, 'my league, I get first pick', then fine. We could decide based on that if we wanted to join the rigged league or not.

But he starts it under the guise of a legitimate league, when the entire draft order has been predetermined - then lies about it. Sorry if I feel these improprieties should have been disclosed prior to sign up, but cheating is cheating.

If anyone calls you on it, yell at them, insult them and do anything else possible to avoid answering any questions about your cheating. Yes, in a few easy steps Peyton Manning can be yours!

The problem with drafting first in a 16-team league is that you're next pick isn't until #32. By that time, the vast majority of front line QB's and RB's are gone, and if, per chance, your #1 gets hurt, you are up the creek. It's far better to be drafting in the middle around #7 through #10. I drafted at #11, and got 2 good RB's to start with, which is where my team will be built around.

Bring on week 1. Who's ready to get stomped upon?
