The Official Sunday "I'm Bored" Thread....

Sun Oct 23, 2005 9:47 pm

Hi there folks,

I have to say today has been such a dull day so far. Nothing planned and nothing that I really have to do so I'm stuck for ideas at the moment!  Sad

What are you all up to? Also any recommendations for me?

Cheers,
Justin  silly

I would give anything to be also home doing nothing. Try being stuck in a hospital on call until tomorrow morning. At least I can look at A.net between patients!

I think a book could be a good companion for you. Or just sleep all day - I would if I could!

Have a good sunday

I just saw a short program on a bread eating contest. A guy and several rather small ladies each ate between 6 and 8 loaves of milk bread.

Now they've moved on to another group who pack away noodles, and it looks like the contestants will each be putting away 9 or 10 bowls of those.

So . . . what are you waiting for? Start getting in shape and use today for practice!

I won't be bored; have laundry to do; if the weather cooperates have some lawn-mowing (hopefully for the last time till spring) to do; my wife and eye get an eye exam today, and maybe a new set of glasses for both of us. Gotta tape the Browns-Lions game, since the exam falls in the middle of the game.

Busy day here.

Been removing carpet form my room. Took about 2 hours as I emptied book shelves, cleaned cupboards out and had to take stuff to the tip. Boring!

I'm going to the State Fair of Texas.  Smile But first I'm going to my parents' house to make them all breakfast, since my sister and her fiance are in town. Then I get to pick up pictures at Target. And drive around....

This week I need to find a job though, lol. I got my commercial multi-engine pilot's license on Friday so I may start some more flight training for CFI to get more hours built up.

Pretty much have a lot to get done in the next few months, so no boring sundays for me.  Smile

Get down the video shop and get Batman Begins on dvd (if you haven't already seen it) and close the curtains, lie back on the sofa, turn off the phone and watch the movie.

I went down to my golf club, played 9 holes then had 25 games of pool with my friend. I beat him 7-2 in golf and 18-7 in pool. Brilliant!  praise

Unfortunately Sunday is almost becoming Monday here. So summing things up: I got rid of a hangover pretty sharpish this mornning - the first one since my birthday last April. Baked some bread. Did some washing - you're not the only one Falcon. Pottered about some. Drove a forty-mile round trip to a garden centre to buy a hundredweight of cat food, thirty tulip bulbs and ogle some aquariums. On arriving home made a pot of tea, had a little zizz on the couch and then watched an NGC portrait of a honey badger living in the Kalahari Desert. Had a bite to eat - tagliatelle with a fish sauce. And now I'm here relating my activities to you guys. All in all, not a terribly active Sunday.

Have a good week everybody.

Regards, Robert  bouncy

I was bored senseless this weekend sooooooo... I went to the Free Record Shop in the mall and bought myself the boxset for "Taken". It's a great series with 15 hours of episodes and a bonus DVD with behind the scenes material, by Steven Spielberg. It was so addictive I watched it for 9 hours last night, and then continued the other half today. I just finished a while ago. I only took a break to shower and sleep. Even my bed was re-arranged opposite to my screen and I was so tired I fell asleep there afterwards. How sad! LOL...

Now I am going to get ready for bed, since I'm old and need to get up early for work. Now if this is not classified as a bored person, then I don't know what IS  Wink

Not too bad here... mornings are for sleeping every weekend; took the parents (visiting for a day and a half) on a little afternoon tour and had some delicious mussels in the evening.  yummy  Not bad at all for a day that otherwise might easily have bored me to death.

Been sitting on my ass in my office (home) staring at the computer since I got up at 9:30. Contractor is doing the last of the work on my new kitchen so I feel sorta trapped in here. After he leaves around fiveish I'll go plop on the couch for a nap then dinner and Sunday night TV. I'm religious (excuse the pun) about not doing anything on Sundays.

I believe you completely. I did something similar once. I was so frickin bored that I went out and bought the entire DVD collection of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I sat through and watched half of the set, which I believe is a whopping 8 hours. Note that I said half of the collection! The only other thing I did was eat and shower. Yep, that makes two of us! BTW, if you want awesome anime, you must give Neon Genesis a look. It's the only one I've seen that presents a wild plot, tries to live up to it and succeeds. All the others tend to let me down after two hours.
