    Clothing

    - Zeppelin (their two small stores in Berlin are great, but I should really leave my purse at home).

    Grocery

    - the small Italian shop at Stargarder Strasse.
    - The market around Kollwitz Square on Saturday.

    CDs/DVDs

    - amazon. Actually I have a bad feeling helping those small record stores disappear. I still buy books at a book store, though.

    Berlin:

KdW, yes I know, Nobby, just keep it to yourself  Wink, I love to sit up there and have a coffee and their ties department is nothing short of spectacular.

Dussmann, good choice of music, though I haven't been there for quiet some time, but at least they WERE good.

and of course all those little shops Berlin ist just famous for, but since it is my hometown, I'm somewhat biased here Big grin

    Amsterdam:

Fame, center of town, near that palace, close to Dam, absolutely great choice of music and DVDs, the latter ones are dirt cheap in Holland!

    New York:

Virgins at Times Square, choice ok, and I know I know, but this is the very shop I always go to after checking into my hotel, after showering and changing...the place I always start my NYC visits...many many...and trust me: I'll be back Big grin

And of course strolling down (or up) 5th and Madison...always nice, and on 5th I actually bought my last and most favorite watch...in a German shop, of all places Big grin

    London:

Harrods...NO! Not really! But I love to hang around at Covent Garden, I really do, but as in Berlin, there are so many nice places to shop.
I know it's only VfB but I like it!

GAP - It's the only place I can get the jeans I like.

John Lewis - Overpriced to shit, but it's a great place to get hands on with a few new gadgets! I get clothes here too.

Debenhams - They do have a wide selection of designers here, and it's reasonably priced.

And once I'm all shopped out....

Starbucks - The only place where I can get a Latte and actually enjoy it.

As far as electronics and stuff goes, I'm more inclined to order online to save the hassle of going to the store to pick it up etc.

Any of you guys ever been to the West Quay shopping Mall in my city of Southampton?

    Life is simple:

5 - the Ferrari dealier in SFO (as if)
    4 - eBay for one-off items
3 - Costco for everything else
    2 - Powell's in PDX for books
    1 - Home Depot

I'd be hard-pressed to name a clothing company and you sure as hell will not find their label on the outside of anything I wear unless they pay me for the advertising space.

edit: Forgot an honorable mention to a couple that are not on the regular circuit:

3 - The gift shop at the Smithsonian
2 - El Corte Ingles for cheap but decent wine
    1 - Fortnum & Mason

I loved Eaton's. When I was in high school, I bought nearly all my clothes there. It was one of the few places in Thunder Bay with good clothes. Also bought my two Swatches there! It was just down the street from my high school.

    As for my favourite stores...
