Congrats Texas!

I knew Lt-AWACS would be happy, as he has been a Texas supporter in almost every post he's put on A.net...one of the seemingly few non-bandwagon supporters out there...

P.S. I didn't watch the postgame...what'd Leinart do? I never liked him much, he always came across as an ass to me

well you cant just throw away what usc has accomplished, yeah nothing last forever and hats off to texas but usc still has a lot of great accomplishments along the way so they shouldn't hang their heads on this loss......................expect USC to be good next year as I think they are gonna have some good recruiting  trophy

(Look for wisconsin to give it a good run as well with Calhoun&Stocco back there and from now their toughest game if you look at it would be at michigan)  bigthumbsup
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

Leinart, to paraphrase said something to the effect of "Whatever, We are the better team, they [Texas] just got some better plays" then he walked off.

Leinart is a good player, but a sore loser today. More tequilla, I am toasted here. (I flew an 8 hour sortie today, got up at 4, and I am so dehydrated LOL)

Leinart and Bush both swallowed their pride and congradulated Texas.

What a game of pure football too, I have no fingernails left. Win or lose (I prefer the win) it was a classic (as was last year's Texas-Michigan game)

I was feeling down, but my wife had the most important observation: "Never count Vince Young out."

Makes the whole season of driving (or flying) to Austin for home games, and flying to Houston for the ridiculous Big 12 Championship, all worthwhile.

Vince Young had something to say. Message received, loud and clear.

After a first quarter that started brilliantly and then went downhill very fast, good to see Texas rebound in the remaining three quarters. I stopped watching after halftime because I don't really care, but my feelings are neutral towards Texas while I actively dislike USC. So I'm glad they won.

out of hundreds of football games that i've watched, this was easily one of the greatest i've ever seen.

congrats to UT. They deserve this game and the nat'l championship. It will be interesting if Matt Leinert, Reggie Bush, and Vince Young are all in the draft together next year...I would imagine at least one of them will stay in so they will be a better pic the next year...so they don't have to compete with the other 2.

Hook'em horns!!!!!! Woooooooooooooooo!!!!!

That's they way to beat them. Humilliate them by having the QB "walk" 17 yards into the end zone and then again the same QB rush into the end zone in 4th & 5!

That's the way to beat a game.

Now lets all sing:

" The eyes of Texas are upon ..... "

You guys continue the song  Smile

I was rooting for 'SC, but what a great ballgame. I personally liked the Trojans game, featuring two backs and connecting on many passes over the middle, whereas Texas seemed one dimensional. But, if the one dimension is killing the other side, hit them with it until they can stop it, right? And USC could not find the answer to Howard.

But the W is all that matters and hats off to the 'Horns for playing the entire game and being there at the end. I would have thought Pete Carrol would have been smart enough to designate a defensive spy to put on Howard, but its all hindsight now.

Congrats to all the players and coaches for being in such a great game, and praise the national champion Texas Longhorns!

Did I mention?............great ballgame!

bu!!shit. Texas also had an interception called back by bad officiating, which would of killed a USC drive. Besides the fact Vince would of had a first and goal at the 7 when his knee hit, where Texas would have punched it in.

USC lost cause they blew a 12 point lead with under 8 minutes and let Vince get 467 yards. Get a clue hero.

You mean just like USC beat Notre Dame due to bad officiating? Wonder whether USC would even be in this game if the refs had got that one right.

sore loser. USC had about 12 face masks not called, 2 of them werent incidental that they did call incidental. besides if they had reviewed it and overturned it, one qb sneak up that defense would have done it, and we would have gotten the PAT, so big deal.

Learn to accept a loss like your fellow friends. Its part of life. I used to have to deal with OU all the time too.

Yes, what about the clear-cut interception by TX that wasn't called right? As I recall, USC went on to score on that possession. The proper call would have likely had a significant impact on the game at that point.

To say that TX would not have scored anyway after the missed knee is a bit of a stretch.

In truth, it is impossible to say how the game would have turned out 'if this...', 'if that....'

It was a great game. It was likely a wash regarding bad calls.
