Odors I Like

Thu Jan 05, 2006 4:01 pm

I like the following:

A home cooked meal

The smell of perfume on a lady  Smile

"new car" odor

last of all (and I'm not trying to be "cute"), Jet-A (Aviation will always be my first "love")

Happy New Year  champagne

The smell of burning flesh.

It reminds me of when I worked in the operating theatre. The electric cauterizing scalpel was the best surgical instrument ever invented.

Four smells above all else for me... new tennis balls (weird, I know), new shoes, indian curry of any sort being cooked, and the smell of any sexy lady unless she's wearing too much perfume.

Add burnt hair, Av. Gas, unforgettable.

I absolutely love the smell of anything that is known to the State of California to cause cancer. Laquer thinner, PVC, Carbon Tet., most any petroleum distillate.

My FAVORITE smell, as many will agree, is the smell of a new electronic device. When I worked in the TV buis., there was nothing better than unwrapping a brand new Ikegami camera or Sony tape deck and taking a big Tommy Chong "hit" from inside the foam wrap. Man.....I'll die young, but it's worth it.

I also liked the odor of a test paper after it came out a blueprint machine. In high school (Algebra I to be specific), when it was exam time, our tests were on paper which were still just a bit damp but were printed with "blue print" blue. I haven't smelled this since then

Happy New Year

Yup....remember it well. It was called "Ditto" paper. As you passed them back, you would drag the copies over your face while inhaling as much of that smell as possible.

"Marks A Lot" marker pens is another one.

And who can forget the smell of a freshly opened "playdough" can? Mmmmmm.

Inside of Concorde: It has been awhile since I went to see Concorde at Filton but I remember a wonderful smell of leather.

New car: Great smell, certainly a lot better than old car smell!!

Bus smells: I don't know why but buses never smell bad (sometimes some of the people on them stink though). I think it is a mixture of tyre smell and smells from the engine.
