Here in Charlotte we have a place called Cici's pizza, all you can buffet pizza. They also deliver, they have at least 100 different kinds of pizza and its really good and cheap.
Is it weird I have a RemoveBeforeFlight pitot cover on my car rear view mirror?

If it is a chain pizza place, it's probably not good pizza. The local places where you walk in and know the guys working the ovens because you've been in there so many times is where you get real pizza.

As far as chains go, I'm inclined to agree with Pilot Kaz on this one. For a little more "upscale," I'll take Mellow Mushroom.

CiCi's is in St. Louis and all over Missouri, too.

There's Dewey's Pizza here in St. Louis which is fantastic. They are opening their second location. It's a small chain that is based out of Cincinnati or whatever.

the reason i dont really like them is even though they have an all you can eat buffet, they have the oddest pizzas out

most the time im there, they are out of cheese and pepperoni for a while. They have any other pizza on earth there too. but not cheese/pepperoni. Half the time i mistake the BBQ sauce pizza with cheese (VOMIT)

Around here we have 3 chains and a couple of independents. The independents make good pizza but they don't deliver so generally they don't get my business as we order pizza when we really don't feel like cooking or leaving the house lol.

For Reno-

Blue Moon or Blind Onion for "gourmet pizza"

Pub N Sub, JJ's, or New Yawk pizza for more genuine stuff that tastes good

We actually have quite a few here, though I prefer East Coast style. I had a pizza in Vegas the other week from Back East pizza and ate the whole thing cause I love a floppy, thin crust with chunks of mozzarella. Wish we had it here.

Local Pizza has to be Family Piza for a plain. For a meat lovers delight it is Primo.

For a chain I would say Pizza Hut. We had a local Papa John's but it closed a few years ago, not sure why.

Here in Athens, AL it would have to be Papa Johns. In my hometown of Lancaster, PA it was Papa Dino's (most local places are better than chain stores). Nick's pizza and Napoli's are also good  yummy

In Austin, the KING is Conan's Pizza. Voted the 3rd best pizza in America (I say it's easily the first). If you ever come here I insist that you try it. Deep pan pie with whole wheat crust.  Big grin

Here on Staten Island we have a few nice pizza joints. But two stick out the most as being exceptional. Goodfella's which has a few stores on the Island and Joe & Pats on Victory Blvd.

Here in Rochdale we have numerous Pizza places but a lot are Asian (Pakistani) run businesses (not that I don't like them, I just feel that Italians know better) So I go to this one place called J-R Pizza Bar Pretty reasonable prices but the £1.50 delivery charge can be a pain in the arse. All in all though it's good!  thumbsup

The best pizza restaurant is "Tasfirinos" in Hattingen. The owner is my old classmate Yesmir and he is making the best pizza on earth (baked in a wood stove).

Places that are franchised (ie Papa Johns, Dominos, the hut) do not count as local. It's like saying that McDonalds makes the best burgers in your area. If you believe that, you just aren't looking hard enough.

In Milwaukee one joint stands out amongst the others.

I'm normally not a "chain restaurant" guy but, in the Baltimore, Washington area and throughout Maryland, Delaware and Virginia there is Ledo's Pizza.

http://www.ledorestaurant.com/ledonews2.JPG

And, a local neighborhood restaurant in Baltimore called Angelos.

Dominos, Papa Johns etc. are maybe a half step above frozen pizza and, Fraschetti Frozen and DiGorno are even Steven with the boring chains and are ahead of outdated 1970's Pizza hut!
I'm Zippyjet & I approve this message!

Ditto, they know bbq, texmex, and mexican but they don't know squat about pizza. When I lived back in Cleveland there used to be a place named Trios on Lake Road in Rocky River that was the best ever but the owners retired and it's gone. Now the best is Marcos Pizza. Down here in Houston if I was forced to pick I'd have to say Little Ceasers. Best part about it is they always have at least a few peps ready to go for 5 bucks each.

Both are right on the money as far as "real" pizza goes.
