Erm... either I'm not seeing the blatantly obvious, or young Karis duck has the standard Win XP theme with a double-height task bar and the "QuickLaunch" bar on the far left.

It doesn't look like the default theme.. compare it to some of the other screenshots with blue windows xp tast bar

Yeah, that's been kind of a cool fringe benefit. I'm thinking about trying Fluxbox as a window manager... if get around to installing it, I'll post a screenshot.

No. I'm still not over my cold and have a headache, so I can't do anything more challenging than make endless, pointless tweaks on my operating system.

Since I'm a Windows user, I can't install Fluxbox but I'm going to try BlackBoxLean to see what it can do. If it works, I'll post a shot.

Thanks... that's how it came out of the camera. I was up on the roof of the parking lot at BUR into the evening one day, and I decided to try a half-second shot before I went home. Out of all the aviation photography I've done so far, it's probably still my favorite.

It came out great, and it's nice that you took it on a whim and ended up with your favorite shot.

BTW, I downloaded BlackBoxLean and have been tooling around with it. Interesting functionality. However, since my system is configured using the Windows orientation, things can be a little hard to find at first. However, if I were to move things around I imagine it would get much easier with time and practice.

Exactly. You can either have it run as the default shell or have run on top of XP Explorer. Haven't tinkered too far into the settings because I don't want to paint myself into a corner and get stuck, but will continue to muck around with it. Interesting app.

I tend to stick to small default tiles on my main PC as FS needs every resource it can get. On my laptop it varies.

While there are many many graphic designers who use macs, there are also many many graphic designers who use PC. I am one of them. I generally use the platform that my clients use, which have all been PC so far. I am very proficient with macs as well, so if a client uses mac's I will too.

It's just a matter of preference, as the main programs we use (photoshop, illustrator, quark or in design) perform pretty much the same on both a PC or a MAC, and the files created with those programs also work seamless cross platform.
