My user name bacame so because when I joined I quite liked spotting, and lived near Plymouth airport.

Now I don't really go spotting at all and spend very little of my time in Plymouth so it is starting to annoy me Sad

I'm Canadian (canuck)
I don't work in the industry, but I like to fly (pax)
I am not a woman (guy)

canuck + pax + guy = canuckpaxguy

I thought adding the pax thing was relevant at the time, but now I think it's stupid.

A 777-300 in Air Canada colors (colours) is something I'd darn well like to see. Aside from that, I'm really more of an Airbus person and I don't especially like Air Canada. You can smell the irony for miles.  biggrin

About 0.75 miles from the piano keys of 4R/L in BOS. An absolutely spectacular place to lounge and spot on a lovely summer's day.

Gave up Logan22L, which in retrospect was a hip name, but so be it. I a'in't that smart y'know.

BCAInfoSys

I was working as an intern with Boeing Commercial Airplanes when I first joined so:

BCA = Boeing Commercial Airplanes
InfoSys = Information Systems

I'm telling you .. Boeing has an affinity for acronyms. Must be the number of veterans that work there. The acronyms are so bad they made an intranet encyclopedia just to look them up in!  Wow!

(Sidenote: I miss the most treasured perk of my job at Boeing: Being able to walk the 737 line several times a week. I'd go out there on my lunch break to see what was new on the line, reach up and touch the wings as I walked by, and get my exercise all at the same time. I miss it so much.  cry  )

Skidmarks. Hmmmmm,all sorts of nasty conotations there. But to enable you filthy minded people to rest easy it is a nickname I picked up in the RAF simply because my surname is Marks.

Have been variously: MarxBrothers, Alfred, Groucho (popular one that! Big grin), Marks & Spencer etc.

However, due to the gutter humour that is prevalent on A.net I felt skidmarks fitted the bill perfectly. Big grin

I had used this name elsewhere before joining a.net, but I used it here because even though I am an American by birth and now live here in the States, I lived in YYC and love Calgary a lot and really want to move back to there. It might happen in another year or two.

I had just found Airliners.net and was reading some of the threads while listening to messages on my voice mail. It didn't take long to decide to sign up but I was drawing a blank for ideas for a user name. While I was trying to decide, a message from my girlfriend clicked on and she started her message with, "Hi, it's just me". Probably a good thing I didn't wait until hearing the next message. That one was from a guy I work with. Had I done so, my user name would be "heyshithead".

LAZINESS!!

Bray is my home town and I added the suffix for my username on a certain other site (which shall remain nameless). "Man" or "guy" were too awkward-sounding "Buddy" fitted perfectly on account of the alliteration. So I use the same username and password (which is far more interesting!) for all my sites.

When I got my first on line account, I was struggling to find a screen name. On my desk at the time was an old Hallicrafters SX-120 shortwave receiver, hence Halls120.

Not very creative, but I recognize my limitations in that respect.

EGTE = 4 letter ICAO code for Exeter, where I work, and SkyGod is a nickname for one of the examiners we use, as well as my best mate being SkyGod 2.

EGTESkyGod....... Easy, innit.

Not sure why, but I didn't really want people to know it was me at first, but after a few posts about Concorde and a few about flybe/Exeter, a few of our students came in and asked if it was me. No point being secretive after that!!!

I moved from YVR to YSC but knew I would end up in YYZ.

In order to keep my username current for years to come, I omitted the YSC aspect and just kept YVRtoYYZ.

My Father was a commercial pilot for Eastern Airlines for nearly 30 years.

It's because of him that I love aircraft so much. He's the reason I've found my profession in the industry, otherwise I'd be begging for change somewhere. It's an hommage to the Old Fart.

Plus, I kinda thought it sounded cool.
