I only smoke when I'm too drunk to know that it's a bad idea...It probably equates to a dozen or so cigarettes a year.

I can't stand the smell of cigarrets or the smoke, it just makes me cough and hence I have never attempted to smoke one. But, I do like to have the occasional cigar, not the horrible cheap thin ones but the propper ones imported from Cuba that have a really nice taste. I'm not an avid smoker though, mainly because I'm too good at losing lighters Silly

Never have, never will, and still trying to get my dad to quit smoking. Okay, I have to "passive-smoke" when I go to certain public places, but I try to avoid that as good as possible as well.

I started smoking when I was twelve, and didn't quit until I was thirty on June 21, 1980 at 4:00 pm in the afternoon PST. At that point I finished a pack and said to myself "I don't need this anymore" and that was the end of it.

I am now 58, and I have not smoked since. But my weapon of choice was L&Ms, 1-1/2 packs a day.

Right now, my house smells reasonably clean, chest Xrays look good, I can run up and down the stairs and if I really get the urge I can go and put thirty miles or so on my bicycle.

except Red Excite ...damn those things were harsh and smelt vile, a bit like Corona's, they stink to high heaven!

I've tried cigarettes maybe three or four times, one draw each time and I didn't notice anything good about it. The smoke tastes disgusting, the small "flash" you get wears off fast, it's highly expensive and it ruins your health.

The bad manners of some smokers also disgust me, smoking in confined spaces being the worst offence. I don't set off stink bombs in elevators or buses, so why should anyone have the right to smoke in them? Can't they wait the few minutes or even seconds until they get off?

well...i smoke. Marlboro lights 100s. My fist cigarette was in 7th grade. it was on and off until about 9th grade, not really a bad habit until then. After that i found myself smoking almost a pack a day,which is what i do now.

Im only 19, and i know its horrible. It would be very hard for me to quit. When i need one and dont have one, i feel like im gonna loose my mind. Not to mention the cost. I buy cigarettes about everyday. So, at $4.36 a pack, lets say for about 350 days a year.....you do the math. the thing is, i would like to quit, but i dont think i can just quit cold turkey like some of you have. They are so addictive.

Not smoking, Never done that, And I don't like the smell. But, the smell of a 2-stroke 50cc engine with 2-3% Castrol TTS I don't complain about Smile

But I dont feel that smell to often, and that's good I think (know).

I hate smoking and will never take up the disgusting habit. I appreciate that it is addictive and sympathise with those of you that are addicted. I will never smoke or do drugs(maybe weed) but I will drink a fair amount if I feel like it.

Yeah, in school we get video's on how they discovered smoking wasn't good for you but initially it was doctors ho were promoting it as a 'stress relief'

I am totally against smoking and would never smoke. I am also all for the smoking bans in public places ..... well maybe not in pubs.

I think the last person to quit smoking will be a doctor; maybe a nurse. I see it among my fellow students, in hospitals and so on. If you're in the medical field and decide in favour of smoking, you know what you're in for.

I noticed the same when I made my civil service and I see it every time when I meet my friends who are working as a doctor or nurse, all of them are hardcore smokers, yes, all of them!

not everyone can just quit cold turkey. Ive tried it several times and the "occasional twinge of longing" is a persistent and severe fiending for me, its very hard.

Another problem....my mother, aunt, sister, and uncle all smoke and i am around them all the time. Even if i try quitting, being around smokers is enough to set off a bad craving.

Never smoked, never will (it makes me sick to even look at) and I could never date/go out with anyone who smokes or has smoked and quit... I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to kiss them crazy

My mom smokes and my dad used to smoke. Every time a friend came over, I told them he/she was allergic/had asthma/didn't like it and they went outside to smoke instead Big grin

Ahh, those were the days.

You can do whatever you want to your body, but once you force the smoking on me, I get nasty grumpy

No I don't smoke but I find it quite the scandal that rich nations allow their farmers to grow and their industries to refine such an addictive product, yet threatened really poor countries like Bolivia and Peru with sanctions if they dare sell some totally unrefined, unmanufcatured, and thus harmless, plant leaves which are part of their centuries old culture.

Never have smoked cigarettes and only started smoking cigars 5 years ago. Though I limit myself to no more than 6-8 a year. Special occasions only and I don't inhale. biggrin

Nowadays it's around 10 to 20 a day, it used to be 15 to 25 at one point. It's even more when I'm out, which doesn't really happen.

Gauloises IMO are stronger than Marlboro Reds, and nowadays I get a little dizzy from Marlboro Reds, which is why I only smoke Marlboro Lights.

One thing you should all stay away from are Marlboro Menthol, or any kind of Menthol flavoured cigarettes. Those are disgusting, although not as much as Delta (a Costa Rican cigarette brand).

I have never smoked, and never will. Something I found quite interesting (and scary) was that when I was in Europe. Being around many more smokers than here in Canada, I actually found myself thinking "hmm, that looks like it could be good, I'd like to try that". Just shows that second hand smoke can be just as bad i suppose. scared

about 6 hours. Its like a drug, when u dont have it for a while, withdrawal starts: severe irritability, headaches, fatigue, body aches, drowsiness...not good stuff.
