What is it with fish these days? This latest story is about a freak occurrence not unlike what happened to Steve Irwin, except that in this case, the fish involved drowned its victim. And, the victim might not have been acting within the law.

According to one source, killing goliath groupers is illegal. If that's true, and if the purported spear-fisherman was trying to kill the grouper other than in self-defense, then what he was trying to do was against the law.

Sounds like something from the movie "Frogs".

The story isn't clear as to whether the grouper died of its wounds, I will also note. It says only that the fish was tightly wedged in its place of refuge.

It's amazing how large these fish can be. Hundreds of kilograms.
