Don't jump up and down just yet! There's nothing in that article that says they'll be the first to play there. They were just the first to announce a concert for next year. It's perfectly possible that another band will announce a concert that will take place before June 16. Given how the press release says nothing of them being the first to play, I'd even say that's very likely!

You're going to open your national stadium with a band that will be a fading flick of a memory in 5 years time? Why not Coldplay or Radiohead or hell even Oasis? at least they've been around the block a few times.

I don't know much of their Museic (stupid pun intended), but I hear that they put on awesome wicked shows. Furthermore, listening on the radio, the band says that this show will be unlike any they've done before, considering the size and arrangement of seats. Perhaps I should catch this one. Where the hell is Wembley, anyway?

The funniest thing about Kaz's typos is, the words she makes up could very well be real words, so you have no idea if she's talking sensibly or not.  silly  So, I assume trickets have been on sale for a month now?

As much as I'd love to see that, the chances are pretty slim, especially after David Gilmour more or less declared that he was out of the band.

I've read elsewhere that boht Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones & Robbie Williams have been forced to move gigs from Wembley to Milton Keynes, and imo all three of them would have been better openers.

Muse have been around slightly longer than Coldplay, and have produced significantly better music on their last album compared to Coldplay's X&Y effort...

However, musical tastes aside, the inaugural concert really should be someone more legendary. Perhaps a multi-headline of great British artists...The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Who. And if that doesn't happen and it has to be a single band, then the honour should go to the greatest rock band of all time - U2.

Suburb of London. There is a tube station and a surface rail station within walking distance, and plenty of buses going that way.

I was wondering that myself! Come on, we want detailed evil plans, might only get one shot at executing them

Ok well first we need the following; 1 x JGPH1A, 3 x Sheepshaggers (GKirk, Gordonsmall and Nighthawk), a flock of sheep, a tempting 10 layer chocolate fudge cake locked in a secure perspex box and some lentils.

It's quite a simple plan really. Firstly we divide the flock of sheep into three units and divide equally between Gkirk, Gordonsmall and Nighthawk who will be placed in the northern, western and southern areas on the city limits all facing east towards the sea. With the SSS in place (Scottish Sheep Shaggers) we get them to assume their position and hold.

Next we introduce JGPH1A. We will have managed thus far to lure him away from France with the offer of a free lunch consisting of lentil soup and of course, the chocolate cake. Once the soup is finished (which will cause immense wind to build) we bring in the locked away chocolate cake for him to consume. However, JGPH1A will get so infuriated that he can't get to the cake that he will start to jump up and down like Cornish having a tantrum! At the same time we get the SSS to start their humping procedure which coupled with JGP1HA's jumping should cause Newcastle to break away from the mainland at the three designated SSS points. I've got some calculations for the power that the rocking motion of the SSS will provide as well as the predicted score on the richter scale for JGP. For the final stage of the plan we light JGP1HA's excessive wind now emanating from his anus and boom, we have liftoff!

So you'll have to agree, a cunning plan!

Thoughts?
