Do You Have A Nickname?

Fri Dec 22, 2006 11:08 pm

Hi guys and girls,

I never really had a nickname, untill i realised that in reality i do. My dad always calls me "Biggles" because of my flying, everytime we are anywere in public or at the flight school whatever hes saying he'll say "ok, biggles?" or something like that and its a real cool nickname that i dont mind being called.

So do you have one? If so what is it?

I got the nickname Islandman during football as my last name is Moreau and my coach rather liked the movie, Island of Dr.Moreau... go figure. Also I just go by J or Just.

'Chip' by old swimming club members as I love chips.

'Nemo' by a school friend as I could swim just as well as Nemo the fish.

'Jim' by another school friend who randomly decided to start calling me it. Somehow the name stuck for the full 7 years of school  scratchchin

When I was in high school my nickname was "the doctor" (long before Valentino Rossi was even born!) or just "doc", I can't remember where it came from. Now it is just Andz, short for Andrew.

I have a couple nicknames.

From my school mates, Big Dub (as I am big and my first name begins w/ a W)

From my CFI, hairball, because my landings make him want to barf

From my dad, either Monkey or PropHead (I prefer the ladder)

My favorite is either Hairball or PropHead, though.

I have a few nicknames. The one that everyone knows me by and calls me by and that I get credited as sometimes is Timmy Banning. Well, the full name is Timothy Carter Banning but people just call me Timmy normally.

I also get called Tim(cuz people think that Timmy is my real name so they shorten it to a nickname lol) and Gregory(my drama teacher came up with it the first day of school), so honestly only a few people call me Sean lol.

And also, in a show I'm involved in at the Old Globe, there is another Sean in the cast, and so I am only known as Timmy among them lol, its cool.

Most call me P.A. - my initials, and some thought it funny when I lived in Asbury Park to call me P.A. from A.P.

A few call me Pablo because I speak some spanish.

I got dubbed the "ATM" in high school. The joke was that I was always found at parties flirting with one girl after another. The called me the "Mac Machine"

Incredibly lame, I know, but a few still insist on calling me out every now and again.

My nickname is the way I sign all of my posts on here. It was dubbed by someone who found it hard to say my first name (Antonis), but I don't know how they came up with what they did.

J... and Foxy (no bloody idea why... and it's not sexual as my best friend just randomly started calling me that... and she's a girl... and not lesbian/bi)...

J dates back from my early days as a Sonic the Hedgehog fanatic, where I made up a fancharacter called Jennifer, often referred to as J... everyone thought my name was Jennifer, and thus, just referred to me as J. It stuck on, even as everyone learned my real name is Janni. Jennifer also comes up from time to time.

Foxy is most often used, for some reason. I'd prefer it to be my next a.net screen name, but it's already taken  cry

Westy (not surprisingly) to my online friends and acquaintenances. Only two people I've met from an online source actually call me by my real name.

Eons ago I was called P.F., short for "permanent fixture", when I used to spend a lot of time standing at the cubicle of a particular cute secretary at a law firm I worked at in my early, innocent, and impressionable years while we were constantly gossiping.

"Cios", got that name sometime in school. Originally started as "Kiosk, because I would always have at least 1 pack of chewing gum and 5 LifeSavers with me in school. "Kiosk" then morphed into "Kios", and finally was 'Americanised' into "Cios".

Pingu. Seriously. I used to be pretty big, so I used to waddle...just like a penguin. Now I'm not as heavy (but still, it stuck) This has been for almost 3 years now. I don't have anyothers (well, i do, but I'm not posting them here Big grin) Oh, I get called batty sometimes (Batty in slang for round here is a gay/bisexual person, or a "taker", and people refuse to believe i'm not a taker  Embarrassment  biggrin  )

"Duff"  yes

And no, not for the beer on the Simpsons

My 10th grade math teacher had a word problem on a quiz with a character "Mr. Duffy" in it. A classmate started calling me that as a goof, and it just stuck.
