Official "Rrroll Up The Rim To Win" Thread

Tue Mar 06, 2007 6:52 am

Well, it's that time of the year again, has been for a couple of weeks already.

Anyway, I thought it would be kind of neat to see if anyone has been having any luck at Tim Horton's yearly coffee cup extravaganza!

So far, I've been buying 2 large black coffees a day, and not a thing, not even a freakin' donut!  Angry

So, post your winnings!

I like their flavored coffee (aka Powder and water) so I usually order that. I used to drink copious amounts of double/double but Tim's coffee has started to give me stomach aches. I do not get the problem with other brands. I have had 7 coffees since they started the promotion and haven't won once yet.

Wow! Most people would probably be in the hospital by the time they got to number 4.  silly

What's more surprising to me is that no one's won anything yet. Back in the day, I went to TH every Saturday. Between me, my sister, and my dad, we'd almost always win something when the promotion was on. And it's not like I'm especially lucky either.

5 cups so far this season... zero wins. I think it has been at least 25 rolls over 3 seasons since I won even a donut.  cry

Nope, me and my buddy have two a day each and nothing ever - and is it just me or do you end up busting your nails each time you try and rrrroll the rrrim up?? According to the tv ads its rolls up just like a plain bit of paper but it takes me a minute of fighting with it by which time all the drops have emptied themselves down my front...

I didn't win anything last season, but I will be back in Canada in a couple weeks, so my normal Tim runs will be doubled.

Well I'm 1 for 4 which is pretty good considering this thread. I was in the Dominican last week and stopped at a Timmes in Woodstock coming back to London and I completely forgot that is was that time of year and won a coffee 1st try, since then absolutely nothing.

Also there goes me using the 10 cent discount of coffee for bringing a mug.

I'm about 4 to 0 at the moment- 4 large 2 cream no sugar double cupped coffee's consumed in the past few days and heven't won yet.  Sad Ah well, I usually average a few cups a week from Tim's so hopefully my luck will change.

I'm 1 for 3 (won a free coffee) so far. I always have a medium black and a chocolate danish.

I have to agree with YVRLTN; it is a pain in the ass to roll up the rim. I usually wait until I get home and cut up the cup with scissors.

Nope, 0 for 6 here, is it just me or does it seem like the past couple of years the winnings get less and less? I remember the first time they rrrroled up the rim, I seemed to win way more than I do now??

I'd have to agree. Officially, the odds are 1 in 9 this year, but judging from the response to this thread I think they may have fudged the numbers a bit.  Wink

I remember the good old days when a couple people could buy a coffee each, and it was virtually assured someone would win something.

It is probably an anti-gambling law. They don't have the skill testing question requirement in the US. BTW, it will probably be a question like "Who is the Prime Minister of Canada"

Does anyone know which size has the best chance of winning?

So what do they do if an American wins? Most of us don't have a clue about Canadian politics.

Um, give them the prize. I believe they can ask you another skill question if you don't get the one they asked. It is a mere technicality.

Quoting Yellowstone (Reply 22):

Well, that is sad, isn't it? I, as an American, would be able to answer the question.

I have one a grand total of 3 empty cups saying please try again...

And as far as the skill testing question goes, they are rather silly for forcing it to be included anymore... but hey: 10+(5x5)-1=?

Wow. I haven't been to this forum in a while, and on my first venture back, the top two threads listed are BOTH about Tim Hortons. I guess it's a sign that I should start posting again!

I buy two coffees per day like clockwork - one large, one medium.
I won my first donut today. Does anyone want it? I don't eat donuts.

You know what's really sad Phyllis? It's that the location in your photo is 250 kms from Toronto, and while it looks like any other Tim Hortons, I know EXACTLY which Tim Hortons that is.

Is there a support group?
