Do You Carry A Pocket Knife?

Fri Mar 16, 2007 12:54 pm

- I dont for the most part, at best I have my mini multi tool key on my keys always. Even on the job I keep my benchmade at work and usually dont keep it on me. Some folks, ex-specially my co-wokers, go a bit overboard on there everyday pocket knife. As for the best knife, id have to say its my military issue benchmade, its just to heavy due to its durability for every day pk...

I like to carry a chainsaw. It comes in handy, especially when I see a tree that makes me feel very angry!  gnasher

There's a leatherman that lives on my belt most times. When I can't wear that I usually have a lockblade clipped to my pocket. It's rare for me not to have a knife of some type on me.

I always have two knives on me at work. One swiss army knife for cutting open skids that have been wrapped, and one bigger knife for getting through poly pipe and the like.

I've carried one of these little pups everyday for 20 years ... except on airplanes.

Yep, a generic one I got as a promo years ago. It's small, light, and has proven surprisingly durable in use.

Same here. Though lately it has been living inside my truck's glove compartment.

Not me... chicks usually don't.

I did get really annoyed tonight when I broke the tiny flathead screwdriver I keep in my music junk bag. I need another one now. ... too bad they crap out so easily.

I suggest you avoid Berkeley California. They really love their trees up there.

Nop.

It is illegal to carry any sort of concealed weapon in public in Australia - knives included.

I used to carry one all the time.. Then around 9/11 places other than just airlines determined a 3in swiss army knife was an actual weapon.. so i pretty much only carry one at work.

I carry a Leatherman and a Smith and Wesson Lock Blade on my Duty Gear. Otherwise, no. I've never found a need for a knife as I always have a gun holstered on me.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight.

It's damn hard to open your mail or do minor repairs to things with a gun.

And I always thought a knife was more versatile than a gun. I guess you never had to do carpenter work  biggrin

I don't carry a knife, it's illegal in Sweden... yes they have laws to control that..too.

Box cutter in my desk drawer at home, box cutter in my center console in the BAFDT. Tool box in the garage. Problems solved.

I have built, or helped build three houses. I use tools . . . . remember what Mr. Scott on Star Trek said: "The right tool for the right job:.  wink  laughing

I carry a Swiss Card with me at all times; very convenient - it's the size of a credit card and has a blade, multi-screwdriver, toothpick, pen, forceps, nail file and a pin. Airports don't seem to notice it, so it often travel with me inside aircraft.

I have one in my desk at work, one at home and one in my car.

I don't have one on my person. I have enough junk to lug around.

I used to carry a small pocket knife in the watch pocket of my pants. It was always a convenient thing to have.

Then one day in April '05 at CDG I forgot to move it into my checked luggage. That's it in the plastic box at the security checkpoint on top of all those scissors.

I used to. Sept 11 changed that for me. I had to break the habit and start stashing them in my car and on my bike, lest I find myself at a checkpoint at 4am suddenly realizing I have to give up a perfectly good knife to the TSA.

And I'm sure we're all worse off because of it. Who the hell cares, what on earth is one supposed to do with a freakin' pocket knife anyway?

Hee hee! I guess I am an unusual chick because I have carried a Swiss Army knife for about ten years now. It travels nicely in my little pink accessories pouch in my purse. Of course, I leave it at home when I am travelling...last time it was on a plane was September 10, 2001. My clients at Delta Air Lines had to FedEx it back to me on September 14.
