Castration Case In NC This Is Twisted Stuff

Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:10 pm

This is one of the most twisted cases I've ever seen in the news.

http://www.citizen-times.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770315139

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round but this gives me the creaming heeby-jeebies.

I mean what is it that makes one want to do that to themselves. You can almost (but not really) understand the twisted logic of the "master" whose psychologist brother described as seeing himself as helping people get what they want.

WOW. That's my best summation.

Wow. Sounds like those guys won the "no-balls prize." Wah-wah-wah-waaaaaaah"

Thanks. I'm here all week.

No seriously, this reminds me of that case in Germany where that guy wanted to be killed and eaten, so the other guy killed and et him. For the longest time they couldn't figure out how to charge him, because of the consensual nature of the act.

It's beyond the realm of normal sanity to want to have ones body maimed (or is it? Ever see those dudes with the big washers in their earlobes and neck tattoos?), so it should be arguable that their consent is invalid based on incapacity. Likewise, it is beyond sanity to want to perform such maimings.

For most people, the line between fantasy and reality is easily defined. For some, the two blur, and they try to carry their fantasies into everyday life. I'm no psychiatrist, but I would say the perpetrators and facilitators would benefit from some time in inpatient psychiatric care more than in jail or on the streets.

The condition is called "body dysmorphia", and it is typified by a person having an extremely strong desire to have a perfectly healthy, functional part of his or her body surgically removed, eg: leg(s), arm(s), testicle(s), penis, or any number of lesser parts such as fingers or toes.
