Oral Histories for Flight 93 Archives

Since 2005, the Flight 93 Memorial Oral History Project has collected nearly 300 first person accounts from individuals with a direct connection to the Flight 93 story. The oral histories have been contributed by family members and friends of the passengers and crew of Flight 93, local residents who witnessed the crash, first responders, those who investigated and performed recovery work at the site, those who supported the workers at the crash site, media who covered the story, airline and air traffic personnel, government officials, and those involved in the memorialization process. The project's purpose is to preserve the collective memory of the passengers and crew of Flight 93 and the events of September 11 for future research, education and interpretive purposes. Individuals with questions about the project or an interest in participating in the Flight 93 Oral History Project should contact the Flight 93 National Memorial planning office in Somerset, Pennsylvania at (814) 443-4557.
