What Kind Of Vehicle Do You Drive?

Sun May 27, 2007 6:27 am

Urgh whats that awful thing. You didn't buy that did you ?. Please tell me you got it free with a Happy Meal from Mcdonalds !!.

Looks like a Mini Cooper on Steroids with the roof lopped off just worse.

Or it looks like one of the animated cars in the film "Cars".

Nice wheels though and I like the 2 bulges on the boot behind the seats.

Right now, I drive these two ...

Between the 2, I put a good 1500km's a week on them, and get paid for it ... heh, heh!

I sold my Mustang GT last year, so I haven't had my own car since. However, back in February, I ordered one of these ...

... and it should be arriving this summer. 2.0L engine, 5 speed manual, power windows/locks/mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats/mirrors/windshield washer fluid nozzles, all for $18K CAN.

I'm not going to do much work on it this year since the summer will be mostly over by the time I get it, but next year, it'll be dropped an inch, have some nice rims put on it, an Eisenmann exhaust system, aerokit and tinted windows.

And the threads get too long anyway.

I have a really old car, but it has been great despite having a *terrible* reputation.

But it's great at both been a city car and motorway driving, and for a small, cheap car, it has done both easily, and MPG is very good (it has a fairly powerful engine for a small car).

It will probably get replaced sometime though this year by something newer, as its not especially refined. I'll miss having such a light car though as the handling is excellent.

They still make those? Also, takes rather long to make that car! VW probably got some diffuclty finding the old parts! Big grin  Wink

Seriously though, would be a nice car. And at quite a good price too! Would not mind VW selling the old model in NL for those prices! Over here you'd be lucky to get one (2nd hand obviously) with the same specs for that price.... with 100.000 miles on it.

You should be the one laughing at everyone driving their expensive cars.

I believe this practice is called 'bangerology' in the UK. Not a bad way to own a car. I recently worked with a guy that had a Subaru off a friend who was about to scrap it. He had been using it for many months, trouble-free dirt-cheap motoring.

So, when I'm driving to work (a.k.a. the auto theft capital of the Inland Valley), I drive a beat-up '97 Camry. The rest of the time, I'm in the Saxdiva-mobile (a Dodge Caravan used for hauling gear), or the beemer.

The other cars in the house are my Dad's 1998 Lexus ES 330 and my Mom's 2005 Lexus ES 350.

A beaten up Toyota Corolla 95, with a 160,000 miles on it, I dont know how i do it considering the fact that I am over 6'5. I dont really care too much for cars, but probably i will be coerced by society to buy a decent car, a comfortable one atleast, something with adequate power and fuel efficiency.
