Mmmmm, do you guys carry a beer called "The Reverend"??

I'm not entirely sure how it fits in with A.net members, but I'm sure you can find a way. Also, it's highly delicious, as well as highly alcoholic.  Smile

It is a good beer though; makes me glad I took that needless walk to the Monte Carlo while trying to find you guys Friday afternoon.

Here's the beer for a certain German member of the moderating staff  duck :

Actually one of my favorite beers, not because of the name. Same brewery has a Belgian White beer called Hummer (It used to be a seasonal beer called Summer Hummer, but it was so popular that they made it a year round beer.).

As a temporary Utahn, I can tell you that Polygamy Porter is good for a laugh but that's about it. I prefer the Captain Bastard's Oatmeal Stout or the Evolution Amber Ale (both also brewed by Wasatch.) The Hefeweizen and the Chasing Tail Pilsner are ok; but I prefer my beers to have a little bit of body to them (if I'm drinking a few; otherwise the domestic shit will do.)

Though I have to admit, P.P. has the best slogan of them all: "Why have just one? Take some home to the wives!"  Wink

(I do have one of the P.P. beer glasses in the cupboard, just for laughs. I also picked up a shotglass at the SLC airport the other day "Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow you might be in Utah." Only $3.50 and the best Utah souvenir you can ever give out.)  bigthumbsup

Sweetwater Brewing Company has been around for a little more than 10 years. There's quite a bit of West Coast style beer influences in their beer as the founders of the brewery, Fredrick Bensch and Kevin McNerney worked for 7 different breweries out West prior to coming the to beer desert Georgia was at the time (We didn't have our first microbreweries until the early to mid 90s). They won Small Brewery of the Year at the 2003 Great American Beer Feast.

They plan on keeping a very small distribution area (All of Georgia, and parts of Florida, Alabama, and the Carolinas {They're in North Carolina but not yet in S.C.]), so the chances of their offerings making it west of the Mississippi are slim.

Foster's that is sold in North America isn't even brewed in Oz; as the brand was licensed out to Molson Coors.

It's true. That 'Oil Can' stuff is just downright gnat's piss. But there are one or two places around here that sell the genuine stuff, imported from down under. It's still gnat's piss, just better tasting gnat's piss. Although when I lived in England, I was a bit partial to that Foster's "Amber" derivative; much smoother and kinder on the palette. I think I had Foster's Export once as well, and it was alright.

Currently I am drinking one of the finest wheat-beers available in the world: "Maisel's Weisse Original Hefe Weissbier", it is a bit darker than the usual wheat-beer, very boarderline to a dark wheat-beer but with a fantastic taste.

What, you didn't like the "420" reference or do you not like EPAs?

The name of the brewery, Sweetwater, comes from a local steam (and a state park) by that name (Actually, there's two Sweetwater Creeks in the Atlanta area.).

 yes

That's the one I get imported through Laithwaites, who are the sole importer to the UK. Was chatting to one of their managers and they said that the only problem they have with it is that they simply can't get hold of enough supplies. It's an absolute gem, but a hidden one, that few know about, and their UK market consists of a relatively small number of people ordering loads of it. Like me, for example. Big grin
