On the war, I'm ok with him. But on immigration and the border, NO! He's losing his position, just like what happened to the the other Republicans who have yet to grow a spine.

Well, if only I could find out why T rex popped off, it could be an indication of what might give rise to other happy events! Big grin

But it all seems to be a mystery.

The Bush administration is very much alike T-Rex in that it has exhibited extreme reliance on pure force and violence,

It's still not even consensus that the JurassicPark-like image of the ferocious hunter is even accurate.... plenty of scientists surmise that T-Rex may have been a scavenger. How horribly unHollywood-like  Wow!

Initally I was more inclined to put an F - as I agreed with Bush a lot more back then than I do now with the mistakes he's made.

I disagree with many of the ways the situation in Iraq has been handled, I disagree with our government trying to fight politically-correct wars, I'm sick of our useless Congress and I'm ashamed of how much of a lame duck Bush has become. That and the fact that his border policies have completely failed - hell, our government itself has failed for the past several decades on this issue.

Yet I realize because he had the balls to make the decisions he did, to take the fight to the enemies, I knew he was a prime target for outlash, however to this point he's brought a load of it on himself as well. Yet - despite my disagreements with him - I still SUPPORT him. I may not support some of the decisions he makes, but I also I don't want him to fail, I don't want our government to fail.

I was well aware of that theory, I just didn't want to go there on top of everything else...!  mischievous

Yeah, it's not that simple. My point was just that the monocausal explanation of the Neanderthal's extinction is probably an oversimplification, if it's true at all.

Where he actually did that - in Afghanistan - it would have taken balls not to do that, and he had full global support.

Iraq, on the other hand, is a completely different matter. Saddam was little more than a worn-out crony of the Reagan administration. Mostly abandoning Afghanistan for that was a supremely stupid idea, especially the way it was done.

Against it from the start, never thought it would be successful or beneficial. Turned out exactly how I predicted it would, an absolute mess.

I put "F" because I was glad he won in 2000 & supported him through 9/11 & the early War on Terror. The whole Iraq mess has done it for me, though.

I was 1 year under voting age in 2004. If I could've voted, I'd have voted against him.

I'll put myself into the F catagory

AT the beginning, I seriously thought he was doing a great job. At did a pretty good job handling 9/11 and had good intentions of getting Osama, but along the way, something corrupted his throught processes. Some say he was just trying to be like his dad, some say it was his staff, who knows, but it really has gone down the shits now. Only thing I see so far coming from him now is his effort for reducing emissions and becoming more energy efficient.

So...

....and you seriously believe that that's going to come from a Texas oil man whose primary interests (of both himself and his extended family) are vested in petroleum?

Well he would if he understood oil. The trouble is there is a (declining) subset in the US oil industry who think that a long term view is noticing a fly on the end of their nose.

Mind you the way things have been, that talent would be starting to take a longer term view in this particular case!

Even qualifying it to Texas oil man is still unfair to many far sighted folk who might be Rep in sympathies but are probably driven made by those policies.

liked the effort

-
I had never any doubt that he tried his very best, but I right from the start disliked the man, and so cannot claim to have been or to be objective.
-
I in fact liked/like his father, whenever I regarded also Bush The Elder as far too much right-wing
