So are you saying that rally of 27 runs in the bottom of the ninth didn't happen?  bomb  Been following baseball since 1964 and I don't recall anyone scoring 30 runs in a game.

It is a modern day MLB record....that is nuts, just nuts. There are football teams that have trouble scoring 30 in a game.

So are they going for 31 in the second game of the doubleheader? Apparently the first time 30 runs scored since 1897.

Kind of reminds me of a football World Cup qualifier, when Australia literally destroyed American Samoa and won 31:0. You're complaining about 30 runs being nuts, but that's nothing; 31 goals in a single football match, now THAT is nuts.  Wink

Wow...

My softball team at work doesn't put up numbers like that... and we're 12-2!

The most runs I remember seeing in a game that I actually watched was Boston over Florida 25-8 on Jun 27, 2003. Johnny Damon had three hits in the first inning (2B, 3B, 1B), and the Sox scored 14 runs in the 1st.

If I'm someone like Ripken, Frank or Brooks Robinson, Boog, or any of the Orioles from the heydays, or a Birds fan like AAFLT, I'd be totally pissed off at the direction they've taken over the past ten years at least. Next to the Royals, the Orioles team and their management are the laughingstock of major league baseball.

Since this is the first game of a double header, I'll go out on a limg and predict that the Birds win game two by one run, and the Rangers go home wishing they'd saved a couple of runs from game one.

Oh, and did I hear that of those thirty runs, twenty-four were scored in the last four innings?

30 runs, that's absurd - AA little league score - no mercy rule.

The Rangers of all teams..

That is an absolute ass kicking. I have not seen an ass kicking to this magnitude since the Cowboys whooped on the Bills in the Super Bowl back when (or when UF bitched OSU)

Peter Angelos needs to sell the damn team before he does any more damage to the image. Though it cannot get much worse the way things are going.

Excuse the shitty video, but this is when Angelos stopped being a good owner after this series

I'd just like to take the time and thank the Orioles for making the Phillies look good--they only lost to the Dodgers 15-3 tonight. It sure was nice to sit in my seat at the game and know that there was a team having a worse go of it than the Phils.  biggrin

Hahaha, I think it's less a case of the Dodgers offense showing up as much as it is the Phils' (pitching) being in absentia. Of course, today, the Phils are only down a run as we go to the sixth. Soooo glad I chose to go to last night's game.  rolleyes

Games like that make you think that perhaps there needs to be a "mercy rule" in pro sports. I mean to just completely embarrass a team to that extent is probably a blow to some players' manhood. I bet after that game, Leo Mazzone wished he was back on the bench next to Bobby Cox here in Atlanta.

This is the first time any professional sports team in Baltimore has given up 30 points since something like October of 2005 when the Ravens gave up 42.

By the way, great job on the 7-8-9 hitters in the Rangers lineup. They went 13/19 with 14 runs, 4 HR, and 16 RBI. And Marlon Byrd and Travis Metcalf both hit grand slams. And if you count the second game, the Rangers scored 33 runs against the Orioles between allowing runs.

Wes Littleton pitched the last three innings for the Rangers to earn the save in the 30-3 victory.

Go Rangers!

Man, that is even better due to the fact that Baltimore was up 3-0, and then Texas scored 30 unanswered runs!

Reminds me of a certain game where a certain team lost 22-0 to the Indians.  Smile

Nah. The Bums finally put their best lineup on the field (other than the injured Nomar, who has been filled in for quite well by Hillenbrand), instead of being sentimental and letting Gonzo start.

What that kid did in the video was pretty stupid. After that incident, fans started doing the same thing and it became a huge problem. Now any fan who interferes with a ball in play is automatically ejected from the ballpark, which I support.

Boy, that kid WAS pretty stupid.  no
