Entertaining game between Middle Tennessee and Louisville on ESPN right now...score 21-14 with 10:37 left in the 1st quarter! Yes, that's right...5 touchdowns in under 5 minutes...

Also Oregon State @ Cincinnati is kicking off about now, Im sure we'll be hearing from S12 on that tonight...

Cool pics, are you affiliated with the team or the airport or the airline, or some way that would allow you to get those pics? I'd hate to be a 6'+ tall, 300+ lbs. lineman having to squeeze into a 737 seat for 7 hours each way though (even if you do get a break during the stop at OAK.)

MTSU is hanging with Louisville, who seems to have forgotten there is a defensive aspect to the game too. The OSU - Cincy game is a lot closer but the MTSU - UL game is a lot more entertaining for sure. The color guy for ESPN (forgot his name now) seems to be a bit impatient with the announcer at times. Nothing like a live TV catfight!

I have a feeling we're about to see the first upset of the week here...

Teh Beavs got beat into oblivion by a mediocre Cincy team.

I thought OSU had a great squad? I thought they were a good team? Sure didn't show it tonight.

Colt Brennan is voted AT&T player of the week.

Kind of surprising to me that he did so well in a nationwide fan vote. Very cool for Brennan and UH.

The North Avenue Trade School, fresh off of their trouncing of the Not-so-Fighting Irish, welcome Samford University to Bobby Dodd Stadium. The big story with this game is the swift restoration of the "Ramblin' Wreck", the 1930 Model A Ford that has rolled onto the field at every home game since 1961, which was severely damaged when the trailer used to haul it around broke an axle and caused the trailer to fishtail, causing damage to the car.

Never said it was scientific. I got the highest score possible on the the AP Statistics test and fully understand polling and its pitfalls....especially a self selecting poll like this one. However, Colt won by a pretty big margin (he had over 40% of the votes) among the 4 or 5 candidates. Pretty impressive I think that he did so well.

Hawai'i had enough people to get Jasmine Trias through to the Top 3 of American Idol, but I don't think it was us giving this one to Colt....it wasn't even publicized here that he was nominated until he won.

That is if you're betting the underdog. UGA is a 4-point favorite according to the latest lines from Vegas (Some offshores having as much as a 6 to 6 1/2 point favorites. Over/under is 45 (If I were betting on this game, I'd definitely take the over).

While the Ol' Ball Coach has been a thorn in the side of the Dawgs over the years, the Gamecocks aren't the Gators. The Gators under the Ol' Ball Coach would have completely throttled La.-Lafayette, not letting them to be two TDs back. The last time Georgia lost to the Gamecocks was when Holtz was the coach. Sure it could be time for the streak to end, but I think this will be a close game, along the lines of the '05 game.

Going into the 4th Quarter, Georgia Tech is rolling over Samford, 62-7 (It was 45-0 at the half).

Can't believe Ohio State allowed the Zips to score a safety in their 20-2 win over Akron.

There's been two safeties scored today. Duke scored one as well, probably be their biggest play all season...  duck .

The Buckeyes won a by a pretty pedestrian 20-2 over Akron. Akron has a pretty good D, but they can't hand with OSU on the offensive end. So far, two unimpressive wins by the Buckeyes. They won't get a test for a few weeks.

My beloved BG Falcons made Michigan State work hard for a 28-17 win. BG was down 21-17 midway through the 4th, but QB Tyler Sheehan threw an INT, and MSU put the game away. BG may be in line for a pretty good season this year.

And as a Buckeye fan, I always want Michigan to lose, but to be honest, it's downright painful watching the Maze and Blue lately. It's not what you expect from a perennial national power, and a team that was picked to be a title contender. It is almost physically painfull watching Oregon dismantle their defense. I can imagine what Wolverine fan is going through right now.

DeSaun Jackson scored on a 73 yard reserve and had another big game as California did what they had to do, and but away Colorado State 34-28, which sounds closer than it really was as CSU score twice in the last three minutes.

There are a lot of violent thoughts running through our heads, I can assure you of that right now. It's a good thing that I am here in ATL this weekend and not at home in Michigan. If I had been at home I would have been at the game, and then would have been in an even worse mood. The only thing that could cheer me up is a phone call telling me that my weapons grade plutonium has arrived, and that I can begin my world conquest. Alas my phone is silent, and the conquest will be put off another day.

Boise State's 14-game winning streak comes to an end in Washington. BSU shot themselves in the foot with some mistakes and penalties, including having a touchdown called back in the first half. Not to take anything away from Washington, they played a great game.

It sucks being a Michigan fan right now. They totally sucked today. Mike Hart played good and the offense had plenty of blown opportunaties. Our Defense downright sucked and Oregon ran all over us. Thats 2 straight losses at the Big House.

I just happened to notice a couple of kickers' names today that peaked my interest. Because of this, I would love to start a Hall of Fame for best kicker names ever.

First, from UAB, kicker Swayze Waters (how f'n cool is that name!)

Second, from Southern Miss, Britt Barefoot (I swear I'm not making that up)
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=162324

Are there any other legendary kicker names that you can think of?

UH: 45
LaTech: 44

WOW!! I haven't been that nervous in a while! Hawai'i definately made some HUGE mistakes (turnovers...yikes!!) but they pulled it out.

LaTech's coach was brave to go for 2 in the 1st OT.

Phew..........

Hawaii escapes at Louisiana Tech with a more than thrilling 45-44 OT win! Hawaii did not play well, and credit La Tech, they played awesome! While Colt Brennan's stats might seem impressive to you if you didn't watch the game, which I'm assuming most of you didn't, he seemed to have trouble gripping the ball. He threw an uncharacteristic interception, and lost a fumble which is very un-Colt like.  Smile
I guess he's human after all. He ended up with 548 yards passing, 4 touchdowns, and 1 more rushing touchdown. Guess this is what being ranked will be like for Hawaii and their fans. Everyone will be gunning for the Warriors and Hawaii will get everyone's A game each week.
Well I'm off to Las Vegas this week to watch Hawaii's next road game at UNLV next Saturday. Bring on the REBELS!!!

Go Warriors!!

Yes, I was flipping the channel during commercials and saw that TCU was ahead 10-0, and thought an upset was in the making, but the horns pulled it out. Colorado fell to Arizona State, 33-14 tonight. I was rooting for the 'Buffs to win this one, unfortunately it didn't go the way I expected it to. Colorado played a pretty good 1st quarter and Cody Hawkins lost his very first game in his career. (He was 60-0 from Pop Warner through college as a starter.) That's got to be pretty hard on him having to see how its like to actually lose a game. Hopefully Colorado can rebound next week.

Arizona State played sloppy even though they won, too many penalties! Geez!

I hope it's because UNLV is better than people give them credit for not because of a lazy Wisconsin team that just didn't show up. Next week, bring on The Citadel!!! That better be a much better performance...

Well, we had a good time in New Orleans last night, rolled back into Starkville at 2:20am this morning after the MSU-Tulane game (38-17 MSU).

Holy cow, Auburn lost in OT!?

Hookem Horns, was at the game, rushed from the ramp to make the start of 2nd quarter. We looked like poop the first half, but came around.

DKR was gettin krunk tonight! A 20 pt run is a helluva way to start the 2nd half... And finally defense stepped it up!

One of many big hits/plays from the Texas D tonight.

Oh and I've never seen so many f*ckin offensive pass interference calls in a game before! I was sittin in the south endzone and we prolly had 5 or 6 loud-ass "bullshit" chants goin in the first half. And I think there were four reviewed calls, all on Texas. The reffin situation was just weird tonight..

On a different subject, Kyle Field was emptyyy today! I was watching at the end of the 3rd quarter and it's maybe 2/3 full. What happened to the 12th man??

Hook 'Em Horns!

p.s. Michigan sucks.. That fake statue of liberty was sports center play of the day!

At least with the War Chickens, Notre Dame, and Michigan all losing, it takes the sting out of Georgia losing, as my boss is an Auburn fan, and one of my other coworkers is a Notre Dame and Michigan.

I watched the OT in the Fresno State-Texas A&M game, that was some good football. Fresno State caught a break there with the penalty on that play that should have effectively ended the game after the guy fumbled the ball.

At least it wasnt the Citadel SLAUGHTERING Webber Int'l 76-0. Wish I got to see that game.

You mean the Citadel's actually got a team this season, or did their opponents field their JV squad?

In regards to the UGA-S.C. game, I think perhaps they ought to let Joe Cox start the next game. That and the receiving corps needs to work on catching. Matt Stafford was throwing some wonky stuff at times and then there were times easy passes were being dropped.

Div. II West Georgia gave Georgia Southern a bit of a scare early on, being up 21-10 at the half. Georgia Southern dominated the second half, winning 45-21.
