Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Sat Nov 10, 2007 8:27 pm

I know 80% of A.net'rs are not old enough to remember when this series was actually in the theaters and not on DVD, VHS what's that..? But I really can't wait till late May 2008 when this comes out. It was sad to hear Sean Connery turned down the chance to be in the movie as he was enjoying retirement. I thought he played a GREAT part in the Final Crusade. John Rhys Davies was not asked to return as Sallah..Indies friend from the Middle East, and sadly Denholm Elliot (Marcus Brody) has since passed away.

Wow...this all makes me much less interested to see this movie.

Obviously, it's sad that Denhold Elliot won't be able to take part. But not asking John Rhys-Davies to be in the movie? That's a damn shame (although, I guess he wasn't in "Temple of Doom"....but that movie sucked anyway  Smile )
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

It's disappointing to not see many of the great actors from the first films in this one, but it won't stop me from seeing it.

I agree 100% with you on that. But sadly, his health is not what it once was.

Final Crusade

It was Last Crusade.

I am a huge fan of the series, but I can't help but thinking what a stupid name they picked for this instalment.

Raiders of the Lost Ark was the first movie I remember seeing in the theater. I loved it and I still do.
The first movie I remember seeing was The Final Countdown, but that was at the drive in.

I just watched it for the first time in years last weekend. It still sucked. I never get tired of the other two, but Temple of Doom isn't that good.

I liked his character.

Any cast is lucky to have Ray Winstone but this is just too dumb for me to pay any attention to. That and watching a grandfatherly Harrison Ford reprise his role...WTF are Spielberg and Lucas thinking? Don't let anyone tell you they ain't in it for the quick buck...

I have my forebodings about this film for the reasons others mentioned above, but I'll certainly see it as soon as it's out. Indiana Jones was my childhood hero.  Smile

Isn't Harrison Ford a little too old for this now?

If there are two people that need "the quick buck" less than these guys, I don't know who they are! Big grin

I hope they turn out a great film that can live up to the great memories that were the original trilogy.

I've got them on Laserdisc  old

If they set it in the post WWII era it would line up ok. I still would like him to battle the Nazis. They are everyone's favorite bad guys.

From what I heard, it's going to take place in the early 1950s...

The original 3 are all awesome but I can't help but feel this movie may have been better off not made. We will see.

Shall Indy now be fighting the evil commies?  Smile A good old paranoia cold war film! That's what we need  Smile

I shall be seeing it in the cinema ofcourse, a final chance to see Indy on the big screen can't be missed. I just hope that our cinema might take advantage of the occasion to play the other Indiana Jones movies as well. They did it when Star Wars and several other big sequels came out...

I have a feeling this is where they want to continue to Indy franchise in the coming years, but hand it off to a new face - Shia. Of course it will be hard for those of us who grew up with the old Indy to watch any new ones without Harrison Ford.
