Carlos Santana (especially hilarious IMO...gotta love the Master of Puppets/Final Countdown break-in):
And finally...Eddie Van Halen:

Ahhh, Van Halen and his signature Kramer guitar. A beautiful sound. I don't have the skill, nor the correct guitar, but lately I've been trying to learn some Van Halen on my Strat, very tricky business.
Steve Vai blows my mind, I wish I could play like him, in my mind one of the most skilled musicians.
Quoting CannibalZ3 (Reply 2): Just stumbled on this solo.. How the hell do they play like that?
That video looks pretty sped up to me. I guess with tons of practice and the right speed metal guitar like an Ibanez it can be done. Some people just seem to have a ton of natural skill, which I think you need to get that kind of speed.
NOTE Language Advisory. It IS Tommy Lee after all...

Hey Guys
Has anyone any info/news on the new Metallica album? Release date, Name, any leaked songs or songs that have been played while on the break out of the studio tour?
Thanks
Robbie (wave)

Well, I just saw Ozzy last night - otherwise known as "The Zakk Wylde Show"
Holy crap.
Unfortunately, they didn't play "No More Tears", which contains what is probably my favorite guitar solo. But hell, I'm not complaining.
One more that I can cross off of the "See them before they die" list (I think ACDC is the only remaining band on that list for me).

Anyone remember the prog-metal band Zebra?
Sadly this is a shortend verision of 'Who's Behind The Door'.
DIO - Rainbow In The Dark
RATT
Just about everything they did in the mid 1980s was flawless but one of my favorites is 'Lay It Down'.
WHITESNAKE
one of these days, I will get CastleIsland to become a diehard fan of Whitesnake
The 20 year anniversary of the big self-titled Whitesnake album was this year. The was one of the best all time pop-metal albums. Though it's pop, it's still metal.
I love the lush arrangements, intricate guitar riffs, solos and of course David Coverdales awesome made for metal vocals. Some call him a Robert Plant rip-off but no matter what, these guys ROCKED!

More METAL!
Y&T - Summertime Girls
Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Boyz Are Gonna Rock
* * * HOW COULD ANYONE FORGET THIS? * * *
Just about every metalhead as well as the artist wish this NEVER happened.
Michael Bolton, yes Michael Bolton was a failed heavey metal singer before becoming a blue-eyed soul singer that made a fortune singing Percy Sledge covers.
