Quoting Queso (Reply 1): That trailer looks like gross overkill (I'm counting a minimum of 68 wheels) for "only" 50,000lb though. |
Quoting Queso (Reply 1): Try not to wake up the neighbors, OK? |
Quoting Miamiair (Reply 5): What does your company make? |
Quoting Airfoilsguy (Reply 9): ITS HERE!! Off to take pics. |
Quoting Queso (Reply 10): Like I said, smash a Hot Wheel with it so we can see how it works! |
Quoting Airfoilsguy (Reply 3): The ram is what weighs 50,000 lbs (the rectangle over the fire), the entire hammer weighs much more. The part you can see is only the tip of the iceburg. What it sits on is what weighs so much. Directly under the hammer is an anvil. This is a large block of steel that weighs about 200,000 to 300,000 lbs. Under that are two bases that weigh about 300,000 to 500,000 lbs. To transport all this will take a few of the above pictured trucks. |
Quoting Airfoilsguy (Reply 14): Well the first part is here. |
Quoting Dan2002 (Reply 17): I wanna say that's Canton.. |
Quoting Airfoilsguy (Reply 18): I waited by a noteworthy bridge for a photo op |
Quoting Queso (Reply 22): I've ever heard of! Are you going to submit your pics to Hammers.net to see if they'll be accepted into their database? |

Hell, I've seen oilfield trucks around here carry nearly that much on a normal flatbed. I'm guessing it has some other assembly preattached to it making it weigh substantially more for the trip. |
Quoting Queso (Reply 22): Airfoilsguy, you're the only "hammerspotter" I've ever heard of! |
Quoting KaiGywer (Reply 27): Damn! That's a hell of a load! |
Quoting KROC (Reply 28): Damnit Kai. Why couldn't you have made this post in the Innuendo thread!?!?!? |
Quoting Mir (Reply 25): I believe that's "Mjolnir". Certainly a fitting name. ![]() -Mir |
