No car

I'll second that - not paying for insurance is nice. Being car-less, not so much.

I should probably get pedestrian insurance though  Wink -- too many crazy drivers out there.

Now that I finally have a clean license. That part about hitting 25 and your insurance goes down is bullshit though. If your a guy and your under 30, your screwed.

Not true. See my response.

Quoting Srbmod (Reply 18):
It really may depend from state to state or company to company.

Very true.

right now I pay 41.77 a month for commercial insurance through all state. I think that totals 580.00 a year.

That's interesting, in many countries the insurance rates seem to vary according to the number of tickets you got.

Not in Germany!  biggrin

1999 Alfa 145 2.0 Cloverleaf - £480 a year fully comprehensive.

I'm 24 with no points on my licence (eventually), 1 'at fault' (total loss) and 1 non-fault (got rear ended) accident in the last 18 months.

all state.

I've had lawsuits against all of these companies, plus quite a few more, for refusal to pay claims... The insurance industry doesn't make money by paying; they make money by NOT paying....

That's even more Interesting... Must mean EVERYONE in Germany is getting screwed for the damage caused by relatively few bad drivers...

Why? Your insurance rate increases only when you're at fault in an accident. I guess it is the same elsewhere, isn't it?

Aside from that, "relatively few bad drivers", what country are you comparing us to?

All because of one accident in a parking lot in 2003 where I backed into someone. That should drop down a bit when I renew in July....

Renault Clio 1.4

E880 per year. It is what we call here a 'mixed' insurance, covering all damage done to the car by me or others on both my car or any other car involved. At first it seemed like a waste until someone smashed my front bumper while I was parked and caused E1500 worth of damage.

The wife and I are on the same Allstate policy - and have the multi-policy discount for having our homeowners' policy through them too.

I'm 35, she's 29. Married (obviously) and no accidents.

We pay just over $600.00 total combined every six months for full coverage.

Currently paying £450 per year for a 2007 Audi A3 1.8T.

That's not a bad rate, especially for living on the outskirts of London.
