I have still to be convinced that austria isnt boring, and it seems the only way to change this would be for me to visit austria. As such I propose that someone should pay for me to go to austria and see the country for myself, and see if it really is boring or not.

Anyone fancy paying? it would be great marketing for the country - austrian tourist board? Government?

From that website we can clearly see that Austria can offer a lot of excitement to the Scots! Just see what they have on animal list:

"Tyrolean stone sheep"

How's that for fun, Gavin? Not so boring now, huh?  Smile

That reminds me of the bull in front of the bullring in Birmingham. There's always a bunch of tourists trying to sit on it's back, but unfortunately those from a Far Eastern origin are usually a little too vertically challenged to get a proper grip with their legs - hence the sound of bone hitting paving slabs normally follows...

Where was our Birmingham Tour Guide when we needed you?! Myself Nighthawk and MYT332 ended up in Birmingham randomly last year and just ended up wandering round aimlessly. Especially the "cheap beer" part must finally attract Gavin to come to Austria, however do not come over here skiing without proper accident insurance, that is serious btw., we have a very big problem with this at the moment here.

The Helicopter starts, brings the injured person into the Hospital and afterwards they come to the conclusion that it was not necessary to get the Helicopter so the ÖAMTC (Austrian pendant of the ADAC) get not paid for it from the "state", sooner or later they will have to end that service, which is a nightmare, and only because of a lot of drunken fools who think they can do everything and highly over estimate their own abilities. - Result: Hospital, but not insured, which can leave them with a huge bill at the end, but not insured, it is very hard to get money from them.

No no no, we booked at one, which was on Broad Street. But not on the man bit of broad Street where all the bars are. So after wandering up and down said street, under random underpasses and avoiding mad drunk tramps, we just went into one on the main drag of Broad Street.

I know we're incompetent (especially MYT332), but we're not THAT incompetent that we can't find an Indian in Birmingham!

Boring? I get bored rather easily but must say that Sirnitz, Austria, is by far the nicest place I've been to in the entire world (and I consider myself well-traveled). Nothing beats a day in that salt-mine amusement park thing either...or the huge zip-line courses around the country.
