If she is afraid of losing, then she might as well leave the race. I hope she will not get discouraged. Showing emotions is not really a good thing in a presidential race...

Yes.

It worked in New Hamshire. It's funny how getting cheated on by her husband and sent out to debunk a vast right wing conspiracy that existed only in her head didn't make her cry but a voter's question does.

Ironic how she only seems to cry when an election is around the corner.

Well, in her mind, it worked the first time, why not try it again? If she does elected, than I might take Ted's idea into consideration. We cannot elect this woman. Please Democrats, nominate Obama. If he wins, i'll be disappointed, but not utterly/butterly disgusted.

Not to be sexist... But I agree a man crying in a presidential race probably wouldn't do him much good. But I'm not so sure about Hillary, like Pope said, it certainly didn't hurt in NH.

I wonder how much the early voting will effect the race, since Obama big surge didn't happen until the last week or so? Early ballots are playing a big factor in the races, I saw in a Florida paper on-line that Romney actually beat McCain on ballots casted on voting day.

Because national political experience is important to them, and in their evaluation, they believe she would be best to run the country.

I haven't made up my mind yet, but why the H*** is everyone attacking Hillary? No one can say that she doesn't have a ton of experience, and while her speeches don't make people cry, she offers up her plans for a wide variety of issues.

A lot of people I am afraid will vote with blinders on. Sometimes, people need to vote not for who they like the the most, but who would be best to run the country. As sometimes the two don't match up.

Clinton or Obama will ultimately be good for the Democratic party. Whoever they nominee is, the Dem. primary will unite behind them to try and hopefully win the white house.

Not sure about this one. Watch for the "McCain Democrats" to become a potent constituency by the fall, especially if Obama clinches the nomination...

Conservatives have made it a point to attack Hillary since the healthcare debacle some 15 years ago, and it has spread throughout this nation (and the world). She's no more polarizing than any other political figure, she just happens to be a woman.

Because she is a f***ing moron. She said just the other day that she would be in favor of garnishing workers wages who don't purchase healthcare insurance to acheive national coverage for everyone. What right does she think she has to force me to purchase healthcare and take my wages if I don't? It'll be a damned cold day on hell before someone forces me to buy healthcare coverage. And before you ask, no I currently do not have health insurance.

End of the day if Clinton wins then Obama will be VP... so after she serves her terms he will still only be in his late 40s (which is still amoungst the youngest of Presidents), by that time he will have the experience. I think it is more important for America to have a Female President right now than to have a Minority President (if you look at it from those angles)... effectively half the population of the USA has not had a female leader before, whereas less than a 1/5 of the population is African-American.

There is huge difference for which if Bush "might" cry versus someone who is known a shrill, spinster, who's lame attempts at emotion is about as comical as a Weird Al Yankovic movie, but with much more dangerous repercussions.

On this subject, Hillary Clinton cannot win. If she shows emotions, she's either accused of being weak, or being calculating and doing it all as an 'act.' However, if she shows no emotion, she's accused of being callous and unfeeling. Some people - including the thread-starter want to dislike her enough to morph any situation into a reason for their dislike.

Quoting FXramper (Thread starter):

Not to split hairs, but Hillary was not 'crying'. She had tears in her eyes, yet they didn't stream down her face. Quit trying to spin it into this huge sobbing, boo-hoo sort of thing. As for streaming tears . . .

Its amazing to me how people really loathe the idea of a woman politician. Women have so many more issues to deal with in terms of being in the public eye. She's damned if she does, damned if she doesnt. No matter what, someone will have a complaint about her behavior. Hillary is too mean, a robotic you-know-what. Hillary is a cry-baby. Well, which is it then? People criticize her no matter what she does...and for no good reason. It appears after looking through this thread that very few people here have any substantive reason about why they dislike her so much. They just "do". And quite frankly I find such logic to be childish and silly.

Men especially dont like her- because they are threatened. The old power system of men in power is being jeopardized with her possible nomination. Many men- even in 2008- feel that she is incompetent, and couldnt handle the pressures of running the US. In reality she has done well in proving herself in politics... and so people nit pick on the one thing they can.... her 'lack of personality and charm'. Give me a break, the woman is fighting an uphill battle to get the nomination and THIS is the best criticism of her that people can come up with-- That her EYES WELLED WITH TEARS. My lord. The world is coming to an end. Someone got a little emotional.

No matter what, someone will have a complaint about her behavior. Hillary is too mean, a robotic you-know-what. Hillary is a cry-baby. Well, which is it then? People criticize her no matter what she does...and for no good reason.

No good reason? Where have you been for the last 18 years.

Quoting AA777 (Reply 44):
Men especially dont like her- because they are threatened

Hmmmm. Interesting observation.

Its amazing to me how people really loathe the idea of a woman politician.

That's not what this is about. This is about political opportunism, and using this as a weapon in her campaign. I'm intrigued by the fact that she turns on and off the waterworks like a Price Pfister bathroom faucett.

That her EYES WELLED WITH TEARS. My lord. The world is coming to an end. Someone got a little emotional.

She's supposed to showing herself as a person of political strength. Is she going to cry when she faces opposition from world leaders?

How vague. Why dont you give a reason. "Where have you been for the last 18 years" is not a reason for disliking someone.

Here we go again. She's supposed to be strong so that she can deal with world leaders. And then when she shows strength or toughness- she's called a heinous B*tch. THEN, the next moment when she shows emotion, she is criticised because it all must be 'an act'. How on earth do you know if her tears were real or not? Does it escape the realm of possibility that she was in fact emotional at the time? Or are you making silly attributions and conclusions based on the simple fact that you 'dislike' her?
