Yeah. But that's been in speculation ever since he removed his parking post...a few days after the end of the regular season, if I recall?

I'd take him for Chicago since the Bears won't be keeping Lance Briggs. Zach and Urlacher would be a fine tandem (and Hillenmeyer is still a decent LB).

Was that sarcasm, since Indy plays in a dome? (Sorry, it's hard to read sarcasm over the internet without the emoticons).

Hmmm, 5 round draft pick, 12 years, most tackles by a linebacker ever, 2nd most tackles ever. I'm sure he thought his time there sucked.

It's looking good from the outside, and thanks to ex-Mayor Bart Peterson, the taxpayers are fronting the bill, which, by the way, cost him his job.  Wink

Dungy could do a lot with Zach, but I'd still like to see him on da Bears.

Time marches on. Good LB, and I respect him for being "undersized" but he had the heart of a lion. Sadly, he's slowed down and might be able to contribute situationally. As they say, it's a young man's game.

ZT was a warrior though...I salute the guy.

I bet after last year the fact the Phins have a couple years of rebuilding to do...I bet he isn't that broken up about the fact he will get a chance to play with a winner again.

I was surprised, yet not shocked to hear this. Still sad.

Here's a quote from a great write up on Zach.

No, he wasn't into playing football politics. He was the quote everyone wanted to hear because we all knew Zach would tell it like it is. As violent as he was on the field, he was almost gentle off the field. He would seek you out and ask questions, genuinely wanting to know what you had to say. He never shied away from controversy, always attacking the truth the way he would an opposing runner. It was refreshing. It was vintage Zach.

But a wonderful personality isn't why I believe he will land in Canton, Ohio, one day. No, he will be in the Hall of Fame because he is one of the most productive linebackers in the history the game. There was no need to pad his tackling numbers. The numbers were very accurate. In 12 seasons, there were more than 1,800 tackles. Think about that. In all but one season, Thomas had 100 tackles. I wonder how many of them made us wince because of the ferocity of the hit or made us searching for a replay to get further evidence of how Thomas made that tackle, how he ate up so much ground to get there.

I've never seen a quicker linebacker. Never seen a smarter one either.

What Cohen says about Zach off the field is spot on. I met him in the parking garage at FLL in my brief stint there. Although the conversation was only a couple sentences, the demeanor was as if we had been friends.

I wish you more than luck Zach, I hope you get that ring - there aren't many more who deserve it!
