I can't wait until I get my Lexus IS F for my 16th birthday. If you go to the Lexus website, scroll over the IS F and that is the color mine is ordered to be. It's awesome. i will be the only one with that color around the Metroplex.

When at home, it is a 1997 Opel (aka. Vauxhaul) Astra (F-model) station wagon.
I prefer to spend my money for other things than buying new cars ever so often. Once I got accustomed to one, it stays with me for many (!) years i.e. as long as it evolves no technical problems.

Wow, do I feel jealous (not).
All I have in my garage is a 2004 Saturn Vue and a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. The Acclaim is my primary vehicle as it is bought and paid for, not on a lease like the Vue. So, if I get in an accident, the banks won't scream bloody murder when we go to return it this year (we have a 4-year lease on the Vue).
I don't need a flashy car, I just need a mode of transportation to get from A to B without an issue.

We've had that car for almost 4 years. It belongs to my father, and he has now swapped it for a 2003 Kia Spectra.

We'll probably go pick it up later today. We'll bring the old car to the same dealer where we bought the newer one, as it's our "down payment" for it (the rest of the price, which is roughly half the price the newer car was on offer will be paid within the next weeks), put our stuff in the new car, and probably go on a drive.

I am a GM guy, all the way, but Ford makes some excellent products, no doubt. That 06 Taurus was a deal I couldn't pass up - brand spanking new, V6 with every option but leather/sunroof/aluminum wheels, and destined to be a rental but on sale because they ordered to many - all for a ridiculous $11K.
So far have 30K on it, taken it across the lower half of the country a few times, no problems whatsoever with it.

I've got a BAD-ASS chevy, 65 bhp. A Matiz.
A car for the future; fuel efficient, cheap to produce, more than enough room to move 2 persons and even 5 for shorter distances and.. ugly as hell!
I had a black one before, but ran into a deer at 140 kph(87 mph) and went of the road, the car didn't like that treatment so had to get a new one.
My work mates call it "the green pea"

My '91 Ranger was my first vehicle I bought right out of High School for $5000 10 years ago. Still runs like a top, has no troubles in -30 weather or anything, just kind of a pig on gas which is why I took the neon. I got it for free from a family friend, only had 106,000km (about 66,000 miles), well maintained so I couldn't pass it up. Much cheaper on gas which is over $1/liter up here. Still use the Ranger for Home Depot runs etc.

As for me, I personally have no car (sigh...). Back home, my family drives a pair of Volvos: an '08 S80 T6, and an '08 XC90 3.2. Every once in a while my dad lets me take the S80 for a spin when I'm in town

I do too, but sadly it belongs to the guy with the $8 million penthouse on the 36th floor. Hey, it's technically my garage too. Right now my two spots are occupied by a 2008 Audi S5, black on black of course, and a 2007 Range Rover Sport HSE, white on black.

We don't have a garage. But on the street outside the house is my S-reg (1999) Fiat Punto s, 5-speed, 5-door 1.2l (that can get 45 mpg), blue, and my wife's Toyota Corolla, same age, 1.4l, 3 door, silver. Both reliable, but mine's lacking a/c and a CD player (radio cassette is fine!).

The only time I struck a very small deer, I managed to stay on the road.
A few days later a by-then collegue drove into a flight of wild bore behind a curve. He escaped uninjured (apart from shock), but that VW Golf was heavily damaged with even the motor block ripped out.

Are you kidding me? Spoiled rotten....you should be made to buy your own car. I find that those who buy their own cars tend to take better care of them than those who are just handed them.
For me...there is no car in my garage, as the garage is too full of crap. However, on the lawn outside is a dinky little Kia Pride. (No power steering, leather interiors...you have to physically wind the windows....) It's about 10 years old, has a few dents and bruises but it gets me where I want to go and is really fuel-efficient.

Nothing against being given a car, but you certainly have to question sanity of his parents who'd buy a 16-year old kid with zero or minimal driving experience a 50,000 USD car which does 0-100km/h in 4.5 sec. The learning time behind the wheel is something no money can buy.

It's OK. Check out the kid's profile. He has straight A's, and is in the top 4% of his class. There are 400 people in his class. I think he can handle it.
