Your parents must not like you. Any parents who would buy their kid a car with that much horse power for their first car are either morons or want their kids to die a horrible death. I have no problem with parents buying their kid a nice car if they have the money but don't but them a performance car for their first car. Its the same reason people don't take their first solo in in an F18. That much power is lethal in inexperienced hands. My dad has always had at least one super car since I was 13 but he never let me drive one by myself until I was well in my twenties.

Currently I am driving my mother's Peugeot 206CC but the car will be history very soon, I'm in contact with several VW dealers at the moment and I am searching for a VW Golf with automatic DSG trasmission (preferred the 1.4 TSI engine and a decent color like silver). I hope some VW dude finds such a car very soon because I do not want to wait several months until a new one is build.

Punto Power (1.2 litres of it, to be precise). Fairly reliable, though a couple of niggly things at the moment are bugging me. Nothing I can't fix though.

Gets 47-50mpg on motorway driving, has been very reliable since I have owned it (2002 car, bought in 2003). I learned to drive in it, and it has served me well.

The car I have now is a beautiful, green 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SE sedan, with the tan leather interior package. I bought it on sale on June 15, 2002, at a local GM dealership (they were running a red-tag sale on used vehicles), and it was my first car bought on a loan. It's beautiful inside and out, and has served me well since I first bought it. Last summer, I drove it all the way from Fort Wayne, IN, to San Francisco, CA, in 4 days, my first ever cross-country trip! It handled it quite well (although it struggled up the hills out west). It's sitting in the garage at UCSF Mission Bay; once in a while I drive it out somewhere outside of San Francisco (since I don't need to drive in the city itself).

You can tell my favorite color is green...

I had this talk a few years ago with my teenage daughter.
I wouldn't let somebody who isn't even fully legally responsible for his acts (under age) drive such a potentially dangerous machine like a car. There is a reason why over here driving cars is limited to over 18 year olds and to drive trucks or busses you'll need to be at least 21 (btw the same with an explosives licence).

Secondly, he should get himself some old junker and fix it up himself, so that it will pass the local roadworthiness test.
This will teach him car mechanics (good knowledge in case of a breakdown), discipline (doing a job properly) and the value of work (and money when he has to cough up the dosh for spares and tools).
Then I would have a lot more respect for him.

I ride around in a 2003 Ford Taurus. We call it the Silver Bullet or the Grey Ghost. It gets me from A to B and I wouldn't trade it for any high end car.

Still the same 12 year old VW Golf 1.6 petrol as in the last 4 or 5 threads. Just passed 200 000 kms. Tomorrow I will take it to the garage for a new APK and large service, so fingers crossed they do not find too many problems.
