A Decent Hotel In YUL

Wed Feb 20, 2008 2:12 am

Next week I'll be going to YYZ for my reading week here at college to relax and finally get to do some real spotting. On the Weds. next week I'm planning to fly to YUL for a day trip on, AC420 a 777. I'm not familiar with the YUL area and am wondering if there are any hotels close by to YUL and approx how much would a night cost me?

Hope to meet some people out next week at YYZ!

There are all kinds of hotels around YUL, most with shuttles to the terminals. I'd suggest a quick jump on orbitz or hotels.com to get a fee for price. Then try to underbid on priceline?

Well if you'd like a hotel in close vicinity of YUL I'd recommend the Novotel Montreal Aeroport, and the Hilton Montreal-Dorval Airport, and if you'd like hotels in the city, theres to much to recomend, and rates all depend on the dates of your stay.

The first time I visited Montreal in September I stayed at the Fairmont located in the city. However when I went in November to see the A380 I stayed at the Hilton Airport Hotel which is located right next to the airport and minutes away from good spotting spots for runway 24L.

I'd highly recommend the hotel.

Depends on what you mean by decent. Immediately at the airport is the Hilton. So if you want to be close that is the best. You can see the airport from there. There is a small Comfort Inn and one other I can't remember just on the other side of the 20 highway. Further up the Cote de Liesse highway is a range of Holiday Inn's, Hamptons etc. but you are a 10 minute drive from the airport. The Marriott attached to the airport won't open until later in the year.

Several months ago I stayed at the Dorval Best Western on Cote de Liesse and paid $106cdn/night. The hotel was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed. I would stay there again. If you want to stay downtown I can recommend Le Nouvel Hotel on Rene Levesque near rue Guy. Have a great time in YUL!

Thanks for the info guys. I think I might book the Bestwestern right near the airport.

P.S. Is anyone going to be at YYZ this weekend?

I'm not sure if I'd recommend this one. Been there last spring, felt a bit ...dirty. So in fall I vent to the Four points again.
That reminds me that I have to book my tickets and hotel for next week.

I guess it's not so Nouvel anymore! Been awhile since I stayed there.

There are dozens of hotels near YUL. Here's a list of hotels with shuttle service:

You can expect to pay around $80 - $100 per night.
