Native English
Elementary level German
Very basic, limited Hebrew
And C++, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, SQL, PHP, PERL, and bash. Perhaps more but that's all I can think of and I am sure enough for the purpose of trying to be humorous...

English (native)
French (not brilliantly but use it at work so it's getting a bit better)
Spanish (beginner.. again use it for work so I've moved on a bit from "Dos Cervezas por favor"!)

oh, and I also generally speak a load of total crap if that counts!

We only had to take it through Grade 9 thankfully. They evaluated our French skills and I got put in the ESL class, I'm pretty sure I only passed because they knew I had no interest in ever going further with it.

Honestly, I think it is nuts to force us to learn another language! I am a Canadian and read, write and speak English. I never had the need to speak French and had no interest in learning it either.

I think here in Canada the school system should focus on English the way it was years ago. This way there wouldn't be so many students leaving school before they graduate.

Bosnian (native) &
Croatian/Serbian (by extension of the above  Wink )*

English (native #2)

German (fluent, have been mistaken for a German once or twice, which made my breasts swell with happiness)

French (was once fluent, now reduced to shouting out town names on road signs)

Slovenian (though it's an epic struggle to differentiate from the other Balkan languages)

Russian (I can ask for a bottle of water as big as a soldier)

Latin (can't speak it, can read it)**

Just to get it clear, there's no such thing as Flemish.. it's either Dutch or one of the Flemish dialects, who are all quite different from each other.

Anyway...

Mother tongue: West-Flemish (don't laugh, researchers says it differs enough from Dutch to be called a language on its own!)  Wink
Dutch fluent
English fluent
French more or less fluent
German... erm... ein bisschen
A few words of Spanish

That's about it...

English - Native
Spanish - Fluent
French - Less fluent than Norwegian
Norwegian (Bokmal) - Almost fluent

Knowing Norwegian, I usually can comprehend written Swedish and Danish. And knowing French and Spanish, I can do the necessities in Italian.

British English (Native)
French (Few basic phrases, after 4 years of it you'd think i'd remember more! I hated French though, it's a romance language and i just couldn't pick it up easily enough to be interested in it. Apparently i was rather good, although i suspect my languages teacher was lying  Wink )
German (Enough to get around. Really liked German, i picked it up easily as well, because English and German are related. I can read quite a bit though, my spoken German isn't very good)

Because of the German/English, i can read some Danish/Swedish too. I can get the gist of some sentences that are written down, can't speak a word of Danish/Swedish though. I admit, it does help having a Danish family as good friends  Wink

I can swear in: English, French, Spanish, German, Danish and Welsh. The most useful phrases, eh?  Wink
